Great improvement over last season.

Last night the local 8th mile track opened back up for t&t. Although the track was cold and traction was a problem (even for the guys running slicks) I pulled off a few decent runs.

Last year's best run:

RT----- .288
60'----- 2.259
ET:----9.886
MPH--- 69.375

Mods: CAI, UD Pulley, high flow cat, headers, Y, 18" Chrome rims, cylinder 5 misfire, bad knock sensor.

Best Run Last Night:

ME---------------'04 Cobra
.172------RT-------.348
2.192----60'--------2.090
6.093----330'-------5.646
8.706----594'-------7.936
9.282---1/8 ET------8.441
78.14---1/8 MPH----89.06
---------.6657------<win>

New mods: Ported/Gasket matched upper and lower IM, 2.5" exhaust cat back, Borla Muffler, 15" buzzsaws (BFG Touring T/A tires),Power steering delete, new coil pack, new knock sensor, minimal weight reduction.

Here is 2 other times, not quite as good but decent:

RT-------.344
60'------2.212
330'-----6.109
594'-----8.731
1/8 ET---9.313
1/8 MPH-77.44

RT-------.028
60'------2.198
330'-----6.112
594'-----8.726
1/8 ET---9.303
1/8 MPH-78.13

Not bad... most of your gains came from fixing the KS I'd say.

Thanks for the comments guys. hopefully if I can get an ECU and maybe a VI I can get into the 8's all motor. I will be trying out a ram air setup through the driver's side headlight next time I go. We'll see if that helps out any.

Very hard to get into the 8's (1/8) with a 3.0 on street tires.

The way I see it is, I am .28 away, I know this is a lot in the 8th, but I believe I can hit 9.20's or high 9.1's on a night where I can get good traction, and less wheel hop. (maybe I should invest in some "J bars") The season has only just begun.

Oh it's definately possible to go 8's with a 3.0, just saying that's it's hard to do. The fastest N/A 3.0 is still Neal's old GXE, and he went something like 8.99 on street tires in the 1/8. Hell even I have a 3.5 and my best on street tires is 8.88. But it's definately possible on street tires.

I think I hit a 9.01 with the 3.0. The first 1/8th mile was never my car's strong point.

To hit a 9.0 on street tires he's probably going to need another 1mph or so and a great launch. It's definitely possible tho.
