hey everyone i have a 2000 maxima 5 speed with a 3.0L short shifter and intake. I raced my friend who has a 2003 maxima 6 speed with a 3.5 intake and catback exhaust. I beat him both time and we both had good take off's

Assuming this is at the track, I'd say your friend doesn't know how to drive AND his lane was not prepped as well as yours.

maybe he's letting you win. you wouldnt happen to have a sister he'd want to @#$%#$%^$^ ?

sorry i have to break it to you, but if you beat him either A). Hes letting you win B). He cannot drive at all or missed 2nd and 3rd and 4th C). There is something seriously wrong with his 03. But nevertheless good kill.

or maybe amima is a realy good driver? could be

maybe he is a really good driver but still a decent driver in an 03 6spd should still be able to take a really good driver in an 00 5spd. his 2k maxima is maybe a very high 14 second car (14.9) or a low 15 second car, that 6spd is a low 14 second car, and with intake and cat back it should be even faster.

when people say there 3.0 beat a 5.0 we believe them

ya but we know that 2k maxima's shoudl be slower then 2k3's lol . your friend must suck at driving my uncle has a 2k3 and runs low 14's. or mabye his car has somthing wrong with it. either way good job.

did you and the guy driving the 03 maxima discuss the race ? what were your conclusions ? one would expect the 3.5l to beat u up good, but you say the 3.0L gave him a good trashing.

Ur friend with the 3.5 deffinately doesnt know how to drive!! He would have walked u on 3rd gear..

well, i dunno what the sts does, but it sohuld take off like .3 of a second which would put him at about 15 flat so thats about even with a poor 2002 friver. I took my 02 to the trck once, and I was running consistant high 14s and some mid 14s, the car had some mods but was hopping terribly, my entire ashtray fell out... so it' possible that he couldnt launch it. I did beat a 2k2 max with my 2k on the street once but that doesnt count because I was spraying..

we raced on the street we setup a 1/4 mile and everything. he had the advantage to the start. and i won both time we are both good drivers and no he didnt let me win. hes my and at the end of the race he was liek holy **** i cant believe you won

A) swap cars and race again
B) does he have some mad heavy wheels or something?

meaning it was a closed off area

He's not a good driver if he lost to a 5th gen 3.0 - unless of course something is wrong with his car.

BTW street racing in non-street racing forums is bannable I believe...

theres beating the driver and then beating the car he beat the driver thats why i like drag strips you can take4 off ten minutes later and you will still see what car is really faster . Iam interested in the cars real speed not the driver.

This is what needs to be done you both swap cars and learn them then race again and see what happens

Caesar has beaten quite a few 35-powered Maxes and 350Z's and he's only got the USIM. Amima has 00VI to boot.

correction: only vq35de I have ever raced was in an Altima which was auto, but i almost got spanked cause the guy was a great bracket racer and was racing his wifes altima for fun.

I have only raced one 350Z and was beaten by half a car i would say, and i think my best back then was 14.4. I would love to race a stock 350Z and almost had another chance at the 1/8th mile drags but that particular car was an auto and doing 9.6-9.8 in the 1/8th mile to my 8.9's to 9.1's so the victory would have been mine ! but still no dice.

You are horrendously fast though...though that race with me was pretty close...what was it? 1.9 - 2.0 seconds difference?
