A few pics and videos from last weeks Z car bracket event at the track

As I posted in the other thread (the 60 ft thread), last Saturday I raced with a local Z car club (on invitation) and ended up winning their bracket event. There was a nice mix of 350Z's, 300ZX's, Datsun 280's and 240's there. I'm posting 3 videos from that day and some pictures from the track photographer again.

As before I apologize for the lack of zoom, these are just off a camera not a camcorder but the good news is they will be the last of this type. As of this weekend I now have a brand new camcorder so all future videos will be much better! (actually I already have a couple from the track today but it'll take me a day or two to get them up).

Video 1 - Racing a N/A blue 350Z during qualifying round: http://vqpower.com/vids/StTJun24-2%20cutA.zip

Video 2 - A good burnout and the EU 2-step in action at the line during the quarterfinal round (vs a turbo 280): http://vqpower.com/vids/StTJun24-3%20cutA.zip

Video 3 - Racing the 280 again later after the brackets were done. On this pass he ran a 12.2 and I ran a 13.2: http://vqpower.com/vids/StTJun24-4%20cutA.zip

Thanks Luke (gtr_rider) for hosting!

You probably need the Indeo codec to play the avi's.. I had the same problem.

Go here and click on download. Then install the codec and the files should work.

Dandy.... videos look awesome, love the 2 step rev limiter !

What kinda exhaust are you runing ? is that a open cutout or something ?

You will be getting a massive load of PMs from me very soon, I now HAVE to get my buttocks off to install my EU thats been collecting dustin the corner since Xmas. Do we have the software update yet avalible to advance the timing etc ?

Once again, much props to you on the well done job.

If you think those videos look good (they're very limited IMO) wait till you see the videos off the brand new camcorder.. they are gonna kick a$$. lol.

The exhaust is currently Cattman headers & y-pipe into a cut-out. No problem on the PM's, though I'll have to clear out my inbox soon.. haha. You should be able to control timing with the current version (1.14) although you won't be able to see the actual final timing number. Greddy has been telling me they are very close to releasing the update for 2 months now so it should be very soon but then again their timelines are very fluid. I can't complain too much though, at least they are working on updates rather than saying too bad it won't be available. I have seen 5 or 6 beta versions now in that time.

great vids and pics, the bottom pic is cool ! did you have time to check out the 350z's(what kinda times they putting down) , they had to be impressed with your 4th Gen Maxima for sure.

New camcorder aye ? awesome.. I have just about worn my old camcorder out and need a new one as well. now all that is left on your next big show at st thomas is:

- Drive to track
- Prep Car
- Change tires
- Look for someone who looks honest, give them 20 bucks to record your videos.
- Race

Chris the 350z's were generally running low 14's, but there was one supercharged one running around 13.1 to 13.2 so good competition for me. There was also an older 280 and 240 running low 12's (turbo'd of course). And a bunch of Z32's that ranged from mid 13's to mid 15's.

The new camcorder is awesome. I love the picture off it and it's widescreen too (Panasonic GS-500). Should have some excellent videos in the future but they'll be BIG avi files.. lol.

Lol on giving someone a $20... hopefully I can find someone I know to come with us and shoot video.

How's that website goin?
