Ever wonder how much rubber you were running on at 100 MPH+. Here is a cross section of my old M/T slicks. Pretty thin and the sidewalls are the same as the tread.

Circled section is wear indicator which is blown up above. If you hit this the cord is very very close.

3rd pic is my new M&H Racemasters, now this is a wrinkle wall, my M/T's never did this. I will cut these up when they are worn out as well, really curious as to how thick the sidewall is on them. This was taken after a rain storm at the track, hence the rust.

 

+1 on the M&H wrinkle. If I let the pressure drop enough I get quite the wrinkle in mine. I thought I had a pic somewhere too but maybe it was on a video..
