It's never too late - I'm planning on a custom plate saying " IRUN12S" once I score a slip in the 12s.......

I have to agree with him on this grey. Jime only started using high stall TC with 3.5, when was on spray with 4th gen and 5.5gen, he launched from idle (i also had asked him for advice and he told me the same)

Yeah, yeah, yeah - but if I can get this car to hook up when launching at 2800 straight into heavy spray, I'll be well into the 12s. I downloaded "cartest" and have been running different combinations, and 12.7s are doable - with 10" slicks.

I have the power - I don't have the traction - yet.

Have you try'd spraying with a 50shot for the 1st stage and 100 for the 2nd

Since you already have the tc you are launching almost in the powerband unlike launch at idle. So maybe staping down to a 50shot will help get out the hole without traction problems and then go into a 100shot to get the party started

I remember in a old post you say traction was pretty good with the 50shot, sometimes less is better

Yeah, I noticed that a while back - my 330' times weren't improved when going from a 50-shot up to a 75-shot on the first stage. Of course, I sprayed the 75-shot second stage while still in first gear, which helped what happened after the 330' mark. Going to a 75-shot /75-shot helped the rest of the 1/4 mile though.

It's like I need to use three different shots to launch and finish the quarter.... Maybe launch into a 35-shot, go into another 35-shot, then hit the 75-shot for the finale...

I wish I had good videos of the front of the car during the 330', but I travel alone and see very few people I know at the tracks. I really want to get cameras on both sides of the front, so I can see and hear what happens, but that's not simple or cheap.. Still working on that one, too.

Maybe you could try 50 then 100, or 75 and wait till 2nd gear to spray the other 75 either combo will help with your traction problems

Oh and 1 other thing are your wheels and tires marked to see if you are spinnig the wheels inside the tires. I am just asking cause with my truck if the tire presurre is too low it happens to me

I'm thinking about changing how I spray - since I've tried every combination with two stages and gotten nowhere, maybe three will work. When you're going for the 12s, you can't wait a whole gear before spraying..

If those tubeless slicks spin on the rim, I'd have flat slicks....

I say you try bigger slicks first. I think you will have better luck with that. and just ignore the possible issue with gearing. just get bigger slicks and try it.

I think I may need 10" slicks, but it will still cost $500 to try them. Bummer.

It's a b**ch having too much power to hook up to the track, ain't it?

Three nitrous stages could also be "interesting"... cheaper than 10" slicks, though..

Did you see this dyno run?

hmmmm i like the pushbutton. too bad i cant see pic of it though. how much power did you put down on the dyno, i forgot. BTW you suspension is infact stiff like u said, because i didnt even see the car move when nitrous came in. When I dynoed a 50shot, u could see the car jerk and the hood move. But i have soft springs (Progress) and GR-2.

Are you saying $500 for the slicks and a set of wheels to put them on?

You don't have too much power to hook up, there are alot of guys with far more power than you have who are hooking up just fine. It's just about getting it all to work together.

1. Yes - about $330 for the 26/10/15 M&H slicks and 180 for the wheels... give or take..

2. When the nitrous hits, I lose traction. If I use more, I lose traction. If I use less, I lose traction. Once in a while, I hook up right and things are good. Mostly I don't hook up with the little power I do have.

3. I've washed the slicks with acetone before each run last time out. My best pass ever was with 18.5 lbs in the driver's side, and 22.5 lbs in the passenger side (forgot to check after taking off trailer). Yeah, things aren't working together, I guess...

Just ordered more nitrous parts

I've just ordered a 6AN 16' nitrous racing line, the latest type of line, and a 6AN bottle manifold and 6ANx4ANx4AN Y-connector to feed the front solenoids.

This should reduce any pressure drop in the main nitrous feed line. Once installed, this should help me get ready for a dyno tuning day.

H*ll no..... I'll figure this out, too... the Edge rules. I'm going to make sure the nitrous flow from the trunk is good, then it's time for dyno tuning. Once I have a handle on actual power, then I'll know what to try next.

This is the fun part - then the "IRUN12S" plate is next.

good luck when are you going back to the dyno, I thinking I will go in jan to check my a/f since I do not have a fuel pressure gauge yet.

Hey hopfully some-1 in your area will be dumping a pair of used 10inch slicks since the season is over and you can try them out for cheap to see if it will work

Soon - after everything is installed and tested.

Actually, tire tests are over until next spring, when tracks in the Heartland open again.

Lucky.... It's 16 degrees right now.

If I can get some serious numbers off a dyno tune, I could put my car on the trailer and take a long trip somewhere south of Kansas, whereever I find a decent track still open.. Of course, at 8 1/2 miles per gallons, a long trip can be expensive - I'd probably have to travel at least 300 miles - maybe 500, like to the Dallas area.... and then come home again.

If I get serious numbers, we'll see..

The weather is crazy right now Dallas may even be out the of question. I think it just snowed there

I may try next week if not I'll wait till jan. I had to install a new straut and brakes. Then it's new plugs, tranny flush and cooler installed, up the shot to 75 and back to the track

13's here I come, but after that who knows I was thinking sc or maybe 3.5 swap cost is within a few hundred dollars but with the 3.5 swap I get a newer motor with about the same power as a sc'd 3.0. Well just some idea's to fart around with when my engine goes. Knock on wood does not happen anytime soon

You'll need good tires when spraying at the track - but you know that, now.

My money is on the 3.5L conversion. Spraying a 3.5 will be ..exciting....

theres something fishy about this, bad driver or something cause theyre much faster than that. ive seen a bone stock 2006 zo6 and it was running 11.9. plus, the previous gen zo6's ran into the deep 12s, maybe you saw the base model c6 running, but even that i would think is faster. either way good luck, you can catch them sooner or later.

Yeah, I've seen Z06's run in the 11s w/mods and tires, but I'm just repeating what I heard the tower say over their track radio station. I saw and heard both 'vetts at tech inspection, and they sounded good - thought they were Z06's. Black and red 'vetts - yum. I parked next to one in staging, and there was a "402" badge on the right front fender ??? Just reporting what I heard - you can either "spectate" or "participate" you know.....

i dunno what the 402 badge means, but never seen a Z06 with that on there, however ive never seen a corvette of any kind with that badge. id rather be participating, both in or against those cars

Did you try clicking the link (indicative of why it was udnerlined, because it was a clickable link), that will take you to a site where there is a Corvette with a 402 ..

Click the link next time. Here, it's a little easier this way, http://www.caranddriver.com/specialt...-corvette.html

Well, they exist - I sat next to a red one for about 10 minutes, staring at the "402" badge on the front right side. And if that pair of 'vettes could only run really low 13's, then maybe I wasn't the only one having traction problems that day.... They did have street tires on - really wide ones, but street tires..

sorry i didnt click the link, i thought you were just trying to be a smartass. that would have shown me the answer

What are the chances that a lingerfelter vette ran 13? i dont care what kind of traction issues they had, lingerfelter corvettes of old have run 7's. yes thats quarter mile. and the new z06's have 427s not 402's

Who said it was a new Corvette??? Or a lingerfelter 'vette??? I didn't see any distinctive badging on either car.... Just the "402" badge on the one I was close to...

my bad, i thought you said it was a new corvette. and i said lingenfelter cause thats the link nmex posted. im not trying to argue here, just merely saying that the times they ran were a joke and maybe the badge was fake.

did the badge say z06 on it or just 402?

OK, for the last time, I sat next to a red Corvette in the staging lanes for about ten minutes. It had a badge on the right front fender that said "402". And it had a cammy idle.

That's ALLL I know about it for sure. ALL.

Regardless of if it was a Z06 or not, modified or not, 13.1 @ 104 for ANY C6 vette is friggin' LAAAAAME. Hopefully the guy just put a 402 badge on it because if it was a real 402 powered vette that guy should just give up racing, forever.

Remember, I just repeated what the tower said about two corvettes that the tower claimed were ZO6s. I didn't see them run. Since there were about 300 cars in eight lanes that day, I have no idea about the performance of the red "402" I sat next to in staging. I'm sure there were more than two 'vettes out that day.

The "402" probably ran low 11's / 120+ mph. They're fast - and I'm sure that going to one of the many Corvette forums will clear this up.
