11.76 @ 121.3 - finally hit 11s.

So hit up the track for one final time this year. Weather was pretty decent, not the best I've ever raced in but OK. For the first time I had access to a tire that wasn't a DR, I was running a borrowed ET Street 26x10.5x15 which isn't the best thing ever (I'm not a big fan of them) but they are better than DRs. On pure 93 octane as usual. Race weight is the same as it's been since I got the CF hood on, in the 3015lb range with driver, 1/4 tank of gas, full interior, no spare, stock jack in the car.

Weather was 66 deg, 30.15 baro, 51 deg dewpoint which made for a 1250' DA and a steady 12-15mph headwind that probably robbed about 1mph or so.

I ran with the cutout CLOSED all day today because I have decided I hate the cutout. I hate the way it sounds, I hate the fact that it makes the car less sleeper-like, etc. So I decided to give it a try without the cutout open, just turned the boost controller up an extra click to compensate for reduced boost I will see with it closed.

Ran this time:

1.82 60'
7.666 1/8 ET
92.40 1/8 MPH
11.761 1/4 ET
121.30 MPH

EDIT: Forgot to add... BriGuyMax said that I was only spinning one of my tires on every burnout today - so that means i was launching with one hot, dry tire, and one cold, wet tire. Not good for the launches - and it showed - I was still spinning them alot

That was my best run of the day, also went 11.84 and 11.96. Day of 11s for me. That's it for the year. Hopefully going to change some things for next season and do some improving, knock on wood.

Yep, got video footage of all my runs today. I'll post it up when it's available. It's on my buddy's video camera so I'll have to wait for him to DL it.

Good show Neal. Knew it was only a matter of time. I'm sure you can better it next year also, get some M&H's on there...

There are ways to get both wheels spinning with a VLSD too, most of the time I've been able to do it (and pulled mid 1.7 60fts also), but you have to watch to make sure both tires are smoking white before you come out of the burnout.

I will have one available once I can get it out of the car and Jay decides if he wants it or not.

But to answer you no they are not available anymore unless you order like 10-15 at once.

That's what I thought.

When will you be selling it, and for how much? I may be interested also..

I have a custom 3" after the cutout (custom 3" before it too), it has a straight through glasspack resonator and a straight through Dynomax Super Flow welded muffler.

To the rest of you guys - thanks alot. Took me a while to get where I wanted to be but I'm in the right place now when it comes to times.

Mardi - no word

Its crazy to look at your mph compared to mardi and tilley...you are getting killed in the 1/8th mile, and then finish around the same in the 1/4. Your car really is a back-half car.

Yeah I'm not sure why that is considering how my dyno looked lol. Also of note is that my 1/8 traps seem pretty inconsistent, whereas my 1/4 traps stay the same even though from one run to the next, my 1/8 trap might vary 2mph. I've trapped as high as 95 in the 1/8th - yet my 1/4 traps are the same whether I trap 92 or 95.

I gained 31mph (almost) on my run back in october where I trapped 123 hehe.

It is so nice to be on a decent tire though and not have to worry about pedalling the car. I just tach it up and let it rip - reminds me of my younger days and my NA car on the slicks hehe.

nope, no progress on any of that stuff. same ol' setup the car has always had. only change I made this year was the Ksport coilovers and the CF hood, everything else was just maintenance and learning how to drive a car again.

You forgot to mention your newest sponsor

The aerodynamic advantage from the detail must have been what got you into the 11's.

I want more but I also want to get this car on road courses next year, so that means I have to change alot of things on it. My car won't ever see 10s and it's not something I'm going for personally. I want it to just be as quick as it can be while remaining for the most part reliable and still trackable with nothing more than simple changes like tires, wastegate springs, boost levels, etc. I'm trying to bring this car back from being a drag only car to being more of a well rounded car.

Getting consistant 2 wheel burnouts is a major pain in the @ss with VLSD or open diff. It's just like pissing in the wind, might get lucky. Might not.

And major props Neal - it's really amazing what a good old VQ30 worth maybe 300 bucks in a junkyard mated to a snail will do.

Congrats! Good luck with all the future projects. I know what you mean about "a well rouned car."
I might hit the track in '07. But I drive the car everyday and I still want to upgrade the turbo. Still researching my options, BBK first though, since I drive it everyday.

Congrats again.
