5gen running 12.3's
Hey I was on youtube and found a vid of a 5gen running 12's has anyone seen this or know what his mods are. I checked the timeslip database and the closest 5gen there is running 12.8's

V6 Trans Ams are DOGS. I remember racing one back when I had my VQ35 4th gen. In my rear view mirror it looked like he was doing WOT in reverse.
Jime surprised the **** out of that guy. Launches super straight and smooth. Every time I show that video to someone they're like 'holy crap I had NO idea an auto maxima could launch like that!'.

That was not a V6 Trans Am, there is no such thing. All Trans Am's were v-8's except for the turbo v6 trans am in 1989ish (TTA).That was an LT1 trans am with is a 350 CID (5.7L) pushrod V-8, not the more potent LS1 v-8 in the last body style and c5 corvette. They made around 275 hp at the time if my memory serves me correctly. The V-6's in the camaro and firebirds sound like **** and are complete dogs, I'm talking like high 15's low 16's stock I had some friends with them in h.s. The comments on there are ridiculous, some ppl are so ignorant. " there's something really done to that car" Yeah it has a rocket on the back didn't you see it? The something that has been done is good driving and smart modding + tuning.
EDIT: For clarification the F-body cars (camaro and firebird) had base v6 motors and the Z28 and SS camaros are all V-8's and the trans am and formula firebirds were also v-8's.

I seen some camaros with RS emblems were the Z28 or SS would go, I believe they were 95+. Is the RS a V8 as well? Cause I notice they have dual exhaust unlike the V6 which has one.

Hard to tell in the video but if it was a TA then it might have been an LT4 which I think was offered on the '96. Stock for stock they are faster than an LS1. Either way it didn't sound stock and 12.9 is about the right time for an average driver with lid & exhaust LS1
The LT4 was never offered in the F-body, only in the 96 Corvette Grand Sport.
LT4s typically dyno the same to a tad higher than the early LS1s and a tad lower than the late LS1s (all stock).

the comments on youtube are almost as bad as street fires. First of all i dont think ive seen a 12 second v6 firebird, even tho they were never made, let alone a 12 second v6 camaro. second if a v6 sounded like that, then i guess ive been hearing some weak *** V8's.
i remember the first time watchign that vid about a year ago just after i got my 02, and it inspired me. Now all im lacking is some NX
