I look forward to top-end but only when I track the car. Otherwise I do a lot of stop and go and my rpms are never really up there...thats particularly why I was looking forward to low-end gains. I know power is increased throughout the whole power band but more so in top end.

Even then, that should be fine for power. Mine lingers around there on the highway.

i guess thats true, you wouldnt want 14.7 for more power anyway. how about a vortec t-trim instead? flows a lot of cfm even at lower psi so it should make more low end. obviously not buttloads at 1500 rpm, but nothing gives much there.

PS: why do you need more low end? i have no trouble maintaining speed up a relatively steep hill going 45 in 6th.

14.7:1 is ideal for power/perfect burn, but we all know the heat issues, but @ those low engine loads(part throttle) it doesn't matter as much vs WOT.

Cliffs: Tuning part throttle is not necessary unless you have a gigantor MAF sensor housing and no AFC.

T-trim is still centrifugal so, for the subject at hand.

headers coming next week

Im wondering if I should trade my 18" rims for some light weight rims...or if I should just sell them and put the stock 17" ones on...

PS: you can run 13's without headers, might be easier with them though...

+1 on that, i thought I was a great driver until I hit the track last week. It was a humbling experience. I thought for sure I would break 13.99 first time out, even spent a fortune on a helmet that I didn't need. Should have spent the dough on the slicks.

wow I forgot about this thread...headers are on and vafc2 is installed. Dyno tune next wednesday and hopefully I can get a run at the track before it closes this year. Im going to post up the #s from the dyno next week but how do I get the runfiles? Do they email it to me if I ask them?

Bring a USB stick (or a floooppy disk if it's an old computer ) and copy the files over...

And this should help you understand why runfiles are important:

thanks for the links man but from what I read dyno-jets are a no no due to lack of tuning accuracy. I believe thats what the shop Im going to uses

a load based dyno will give you a better real life tuning situation, but the dyno jet will give you more accepted number. either way, it wont make THAT much of a HP difference. a couple at most

That is especially true because you're only crudely tuning MAF signal. For REAL tuning, I suppose a load base dyno is better but even then, not going to make a huge difference.

I would be really curious to see your dyno report when you get it since we will probably have similiar mods. Good luck to you also.
Proxes 4 are not good at the drag strip at all... I couldent muster better than about a 2.2 60' on them.
