Theres a local guy here w/ an 60-1 in his LS teggy and it gets like 15ps at 5,000. Its running 9.5:1 comp, and managed a 7.13 in his integra with a 1.8 60ft last weekend at the 1/8 mile.

That is sweet boost for that comp level. The 80-90s turbo Chryslers I play with, c/r is only 8.1 and most do not mod any higher.

the amount of tq/lb also plays a big factor in this.

It's not that I doubt you, but that is an amazing feat in a 3.0.

That was a quote from Caroll Shelby, though he said the HP part first.

Here is a very good page on HP and torque.

Preaching to the choir. My point is that the statement you quoted is/was a GROSS oversimplication.

the 11.9s civic i raced sunday would say otherwise about the tq thing. being only ~ 1 s faster through the 1/8th and almost 2s faster in the 1/4 = massive hp/wt ratio and low tq/wt ratio

you seem to have developed jeff syndrome...maybe you can go back to being yourself and actually just say why you feel it is a GROSS oversimplication.

I just wanted to clear up that the quote was not mine.

The URL posted was an attempt to help shed more light on things, than what the quote did. Not necessarily for you, but anyone else who is interested. I know I found it a good read.

Sorry guy the race bever happend and the 450 was just a guess but my wideband took a poop on me a and I could not finish tunning the car for the 18psi. But i did dyno a couple of days ago on a dyno mite load bearring dyno that reads about 15% less than a normal 248 dyno jet and still managed to put down 291whp and about 317wtp at a little 11psi. hx35's really start to move up in power after 12psi.On a dynojet I would have made around 340whp and 360wtp at the 15% loss from the load berring dyno

yeah he did but before I could get the airfuel dialed in at low boost (11psi) the last 3 runs the cars started messing up with the plugs or maybe spark blowout. But give me some time And ill have it all out on paper with higher boost

What difference does that make, it’s still a 3.0.

I raced my SC max @ 10psi (dynoed at 328 whp at 13 psi) so easy to say i was at about 290-300 and 270 tq.

I raced against jcy98maxse awhile back on his old DEK and a gt35r at 17 psi with horrible tune, and j&s pulling timing like a mo fo. But his car held the boost for about a week.
