A trying 2K

well fella's i have a 2K auto max, im trying my goal is low 14's but everytime i think about modding my mind goes blank due to the lack of mods, but looking at the times in my sig, my next couple of mods is,
headers
crank pulley
e-manage ultimate- the one that cuts the governor and raise rev to 7200 rpm, but other than that every other mod i think of makes me kinda iffy, anything else jumps out to you mod geniuses??? help (BTW not really feeling the VB mod)

Well if you're able to do the work yourself, some ebay nismo knockoff 3.5 cams or can make a decent amount of power (and powerband shift!) which would go nicely with the upped rev limiter.

well isnt cams more so for top end power??? i thought it sacrificed a bit off 1/4 mile to help up top??? but what is this powerband shift???
EDIT: are you saying the cams will have me shifting in my powerband? didnt really understand...

More agressive cams will sacrafice bottom end for topend, and will shift your peak power to a higher RPM. If you raise your rev limiter, shifting your peak power up and further strengthening your topend can be VERY beneficial.

You will GAIN in the 1/4 mile b/c you will be making more power throughout your normal shift-redline RPM range.

yes it will but if u want to go a step further the cams would be a really nice mod to shave time off your 1/4 mile. Another nice mod for autos if you want to keep that auto running cool is a tranny cooler and a high stall convertor. Do those mods and i am pretty sure you will be happy with the results.

thats one of the mods i was iffy about, maybe because i dont fully understand it, does it cause you to shift hard or something???, care to explain it...

It should, for a given cam timing (which of course is not variable on 3.0 equip)...

the tranny cooler just simply keeps the tranny cool. The high stall converter just makes you launch harder and will take more of a beating then the stock one. So if you want grab some slicks and go for some hard launches. If you were talking about cams all it does is shift your power from like 1-3k to everything above...if that makes it eaasier to understand. Thats were the emanege ultimate comes in to raise your revv limiter so u can take advantage of that longer power band.

If you still don't understand the cams think of v-tec power band then think of yours.

you are definitly going to gain power with headers & crank pulley but if you plan to get cams you would more that feel the power top-end just make sure & get it tuned good if you want to run low 14s

Soon my friend! The only search you will need is DandyMax's VQ30DE-K motor specs and then picture it going in my auto 5th gen

that would be very nice but you wouldn't be pushing 270+WHP due to the fact of weight and transmission so it should still be nice competition

270? HELL NO LOL..Not even close but once the manual tranny goes in. Plus I will be keeping the car in full street trim. I have no intentions of weight reduction.

very true but wont you agree that if similar cars dynoed the exact same numbers, that the lighter car has the advantage time wise??? thats all i was saying... he came out cocky (no homo) saying he's gonna have dandy's motor, im just saying dont expect similar #'s which it doesnt seem like he did...

Of course. I was just speaking in terms of dyno, but you're right.
