Ghustle back at it again...
dont pay him no mind, thats just how he speaks
, you a lil bit in ur feelings too lol... u notice any average time difference at the track between the cut out and just exhaust??? like a constant average difference, in ET and more so MPH

why??? im hear to learn, turbulance?... i never heard of such from a gutted cat before
+1 i'd like to see how much it affects at the track..
I haven't been back to the track since my mods were installed. This month I will when I find time. I recall a thread where someone unbolted their y-pipe and gained a couple tenths. That's what prompted me to get the cutout. I will be posting in the racing section my new hopefully better times and the difference with cut-out open and closed.
I was messing with the DR all night and to be honest I don't remember if I took it off or I had it on with this run... jaypee may best remember...
I did it before the solenoids and honestly it fixes the problem at wot. But when the solenoids were done it works fine with it off. Quick shifts ext.
BTW Im looking into a LR maf at the moment. I think you should as well.
and I got the MEgan Test pipe today hollar.

The lag you're feeling in 3rd is the lock-up torque converter. A few of us have done some looking into this, and it's best if you shift into D from 2nd and leave it alone. The only problem with this is if you're running smaller diameter tires, small enough to not let you pass the 1/4 in 3rd. I'm pretty sure you're running not that small of a tire up front yet, so I would try to manual shift 1-->2-->D, leave 3rd alone.
Or, of course there's the SupraStick option if you want to get a bit more technical.

found them on craigslist for 200 with tires
i keep tellin him to get it but noooooooooooooooo....lol
lmao....i was serious the people get the wrong idea about cut-outs....1. u will beed to tune the car with the cut out open to see the full potential 2. u only huge gains over a stock exhaust not a good free flowing mandrel bent exhaust 3. if somebody catch u off gaurd with the cut out closed your a$$ is grass...lol

they lasted me a good long time, i think i got 12-15k out of them and still probably had 25% left in them (they were getting low, but were worn evenly because i have a good alignment) until some broad pulled out in front of me on the freeway (she was on the exit and then decided she didn't want to exit there) and i locked them up and flat spotted them. they were ruined after that, but i hadn't planned to replace them yet, still had a few thousand miles left in them.
they worked better than street tires at the track, despite what most people who haven't used them say. I don't know many street tired maximas that pull mid 1.9s, which I did on the Nittos (usually i was in the 1.98-2.03 range with them, but got them as low as 1.95). they were quite superior to even top quality street tires (I also had a camaro buddy who cut low 1.7s and high 1.6s on them in his LS1, again, impossible for street tires). i used them back when i was turbo too, so there were still traction problems, but they were much better than street tires, and much more manageable wheel spin than on my RS2s and MXs (among the top rated street tires back around 05 and 06).
that being said, if they are going to be for TRACK ONLY, i see no reason to get the nittos 555Rs. get some slicks. i'd only run the nittos on a car that sees lots of street driving and requires more traction than a street tire can provide.

oh yeah i didn't think about your wheel size. there are a couple slick options for 16" though. M&H Cheater Slicks, MT ET Streets or Hoosier Quick Time Pro. All of those will be quite a bit stickier than the Nitto 555R DR. You wouldn't want to drive those on the street though, if that is an issue for you. They are also quite a bit more expensive than the Nittos too. Nitto tires are always pretty cheap which is nice.

Curious...What is your launch technique since you're an auto like me? Usually I rev it to about 1300 and gradually get into the throttle after green. I'm always looking for better ways to launch the auto.
tire pressure at 20psi rev to 2200rpm and floor the gas as hard (simple technique) manual shift

So while you save for the solenoids you can still shift okay.
