i dont know exact specs but the I30t(17s) wheels but they are 10lbs heavier each but they are also wider, thus better traction. as for the steelies.. they are 10lbs lighter but narrower. what do you think would be best? I30ts in front and steelies in back?

I have no clue what you are talking about. what generation of I30t are you talking about? the 96-97 I30t rim is 15x6 and isn't 10lbs heavier than anything other than maybe dirt since as a rim they weigh like 15lbs. If you are talking about the 98-99 I30t rim thats a 16x6. please be more specific.

I'd say the rears aren't a big deal but running 15's seems to be a good choice for most people.

Run the lightest wheel and tire combo you can get your hands on in the front. The rears don't really matter.

well.. since the 96-97 are so light, i must not be refering to them. i have the 2000-01 17s which are 10lbs heavier then my stock steelies, i measured myself. sorry i made it soo hard to figure out.

but since the 17s are wider, there would be more traction during take off and less to no wheel spin when shifting gears. though they are 10lbs heavier, you would still suggest the lighter 15s?

Well I would, the 17's are 1 cm wider. you can lower the pressure in the 15 inch rims to compensate for the footpad of the tire. I think it would be more beneficial to have the lessend rotational weight.
