I have seen some run 14.2s with just a ypipe and intake. I imagine it is very hard to see the 13s after that.

Is it possible to hit the 13s without super, turbo, or nos?

Ps- I ran 15.0 stock my first time to the track.

i think a lot of 5sp owners run low 14s right now and dont have the MEVI....so we'll be seeing ppl in the 13s and still be NA
makes me wish i had a 5sp and know how to drive a stick

What do you think you'll be able to hit after those mods? MEVI...i think V and I are variable intake but whats M and E. Those two mods together are about $1400 right?

BTW a 95-96 ECU can work with 98, I'm not sure where the notion that it won't work came from, but Matt (MardigrasMax is using one on his 98).

I too am looking for 13s and 100mph traps when I get my VI (2 weeks) and drag radials on my 15s.

Dave, do you really think that that will drop you .6 seconds? I have no doubt that you'll hit 100mph traps, but dropping .6 seconds seems like a lot for DR's and a VI.

Yeah, .6 is a lot to ask, but I know my car can do it seeing that I'm consistently in the 96-97mph range. Traps like that mean very low 14s with traction. With the VI, I should approach 98-99mph consistently with some runs possibly going 100mph. The VI should also slash a consistent .2-.3 from my ET. My car's biggest problem is wheelspin in 1st and some of 2nd. My 60 foots are consistent in the high 2.2s and 2.3s. With shorter height drag radials on my 15s I will lower my gear ratio (more torque multiplication) and obviously add more traction. I don't see why I couldn't get at least some 2.1s with the drag radials. We'll see. I'll be very happy with 14.1-14.2@99mph and more so with a 13.9. I hope I get everything up and running before the big Grand Prix GTP "Gathering" at my track in September I want to show the 3.8SC guys what a good running NA 3.0 can do.

Well, I think right now there are people with both 4th gens and 2k2s that could run 13s with just slicks. I think the first to run 13s on street tires (not DRs) will be a 4th gen. With this new VI mod we have a big head start, since they have basically no mods yet.

Are there any kind of matenence tune ups or anything that i may need to do?? Cuz i have a 99 5 speed with a stillen intake, cattman downpipe, greddy cat-back and zex 65 shot of nitrous on my max which ran a 14.525!!!!! any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!

Now that we are all getting excited about the ECU's, MEVI's and the Cam gears/Cams, anyone know where we can get these at a good prices and how much we are looking at spending for them?

b/c I was looking at getting a S/C and after reading this post I might hold off and get some of these other things first. 13's sounds excellent to me for my N/A!!

My friend on his car bought 2 and payed a little over 1000 for them

the good thing is , and i dont know if its tru, but i hurd that the power gains alone from the cams are about 45 hp

45 hp from just the cams would be awesome!! even if the cams are about a grand, you only get about 70 from a S/C right?? and the only price i've seen for a S/C is 3700...

yeah it would be a awsome mod, but the thing is , no one knows yet if they go well with nitrous/superC/or turbo...so if you plan on boosting, maybe u should wait longer to see

My dream set up: MEVI, ECU, CAMS, Supercharged. The only problem is that there is no way I would be about to put the cams in myself. The MEVI and ECU wouldn't be a problem. How much do you think an its going to cost to put in the cams providing its a save bet w/ forced induction.

ya know, i'm surprised that noone's mentioned a built bottom end. all these mods and we're already about to hit 13's. i hope you're already prepared for the first auto in the 13's!!! no, but seriously... i believe if we got a good, solid, ecu to come out for all of the 4th gen years, and the other basics such as cams, cam gears, we would be schooling on some of the other famed cars that have boost, even more than now.

I thought in another thread they were talking about how we might not be able to use cam gears. I did not know if that was true but I saw a bunch of people here mentioning them and did not know if they could work for us or not.

The cams in the 4th gen aren't the problem. The problem is the intake manifold, it choke off the power after ~5500 rpms. I'd rather get a MEVI or fit a 00-01 manifold on my car. Alll I can say Is you guys have some quick **** cars. My best time in my car is 15.021 and I'm not new to drag racing. I probably have ~150 runs under my belt. My old 95 did 14.8it also seemed to handle better also, but my 99 looks better.
