I have a couple of questions, first off with the injectors did you recalibrate the ECU? If you put those injectors on the car without some sort of fuel controller its just gonna run way to rich. Is your car a 5spd or auto, if its a 5spd what kind of clutch are you using? Also can you post a timeslip too, I know several people are going to want to say that your BSing us, I could believe it. What does your car run off the bottle too? As for suspension the only things you can do is fill your engine/tranny mounts with urethane and get some custom KONI struts for the fronts. But if your car can pull 104mph traps, I know you can't be running stock brakes. Hell maybe you could go with Q45 or 91-96 300zx twin turbo calipers and rotors. You don't have many options when it comes to suspension work. Do you realize there are some supercharged 95-99 maxima's that don't even run that fast. If you had a timeslip I would post it as my wallpaper.

I can believe the speed, but how long do you think a vg30e will last with 125 NOS? Probably not too long. Your brakes should be adequate, I can stop from 120 pretty quick! Try running a set of BFG Drag radials. They are street legal but are like a slick in the middle and very soft. Thats what i used at the track last week and they did good. If you have an automatic, you should get your valve body worked on.

I am curently running a stock clutch Believe it or not.I have blown this tranny up more than 5 times the motor twice.I have had the crank balanced and now running forged pistons. Not the commen of a car to see at the track.I did buy a turbo kit for a boat and I am going to see if I can fabricate something to make it work. But any way I am not Bsin you Just wanted to share my ride with you guys.Oh yeah I do run an adjustable fule pressure regulator for thouse of you who asked and the ignition is controlled by a msd 6al Custom made for the car.The trick is leave the stock cam in the engine and add a hellof a lot of boltons. The exhaust was special made I even headers special made. But hey I love the car.You don't need to change the brakes Mine still stops besides its only a 1/4 mile car I don't deal with traffic nor do I drive the car on the street. It can be driven on the street but I have to much invested in the motor to drive it all the time.Do you want anymore info?O yeah every 1/4 mile pass was on cam2 and juice.

Where do you live at, you should check the forums below for any meets near you. I thought I would never see the day when a 2nd gen runs 13's, much less low-mid 13's. Since you have blown 5 trannys it must mean that you powershift alot. Also did you know that nissan uses the same model 5spd tranny from the 85-01 maxima. If you wanted to track down a RS5F50V (it had the VLSD), maybe cryo treat the gears. Then swap the final gear from the F50V's 3.82 to the 2nd gen 3.43. Have you ever put your car on the dyno, to be running 100mph+ traps you would have to be putting down at least 240fwhp+? If you can get some pics to post please do, also visit the 2nd gen maxima club too http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/secondgenerationmaximas. Now I have an idea if what I could run if I had enough $$ . I can honestly say I'm very impressed, I never would have though I'd see the day a 2nd gen with a VG30E would hit 13's .

I hate to steal this thread but I havnt posted here much and it now requires 15 posts to make a new thread crap if you ask me but anyway does anyone know if a VG30DETT engine would fit in a 87 maxima not including any hood problems and would it take a 87 five speed tranny or need something newer ?

P.S. I'm not trying to bash the mods or anything at all because I love this forum but having it to were you haveto make 15 post to make new threads and no searching options whatsoever sortof stinks!!

"they told me that ill need to cut the front half off and extend it 8 inches good luck" Hey I possibly would be willing to do that !!! but really is it just to big other than that does it fit the normal 87 tranny also would it fit in a 90 model maxima?

Seriously...it isn't worth the trouble. The motor is just way too wide.

I'm just curious, why would it be BS? With a cam and 120 shot, the car is easily in the 200-225whp range. There are N/A 4th gens which are larger dimensionally, and a little heavier running mid to high 13's....and they are in the 200-210whp range.

I know I keep bothering all of you with my questions but here is the bottom line ! I love my 87 maxima alot better than the newer model maxies I would like to put an engine in there that would produce around 230 hp I love the VG30DETT engine because they are cheap and there is a never ending supply of them ! if I cant fit a VG30DETT in there what would be a good replacement that would produce around 230hp

Skip the DETT, and just do a VG30ET swap instead. It fits, only needs a bit of plumbing work for the intake and exhaust, and I'm sure you'd get very close to 230HP with a little tweaking.

That's actually not THAT crazy. I thought of this once: the U11 = Maxima/Stanza. Stanza = KA24. KA24= easier to turbo than a VG30. I think I read somewhere that some country overseas saw an AWD SR20DET Stanza. But you know what they say about believing what you read.....
