Cabin fan crapped the bed on me
How awesome is this, i'm on my way home from helping a friend install a header on his 200sx and i have the heat on and the fan speed is set at 3. All of a sudden the fan dies completely, and i get that wonderful wire burning smell (awesome). So my fan is burned up i'm assuming, and i live in Butler Pa, its like western PA and right now we are at like 8degrees and the windchill is like 15-20 below. and i have an hour drive to school tomorrow get to leave the house bright and early 7am, gonna be a warm drive woo-hoo. just thought i'd vent to you guys. anyone have similar problems or know what it could be/what i could do. thanks.

Just a quick followup, Later last night i opened up the fuse panel and noticed that there are two fuses that are blown, the A/C fuse and the Heater fuse, they are both 15A fuses and I have no more 15A i only have one 10A and a 20A, so for a quick fix i replaced it with the 10A leaving the A/C slot open because i have nothing to fill it with. I have an hour trip to school each way and i made it the whole way up and the whole way back and as soon as i made it to my drive way the fuse blew again. I don't mind continuing to replace fuses considering they don't exactly burn a hole in my pocket but i'd still like to know what the problem is. I'm going to go have it looked at and i'll let you guys know what i find

You may need to test your fan. It could have bearings going bad on it, which makes it harder to turn. This will cause it to draw more power than the fuse can handle.

I thought that as a possiblity, Where is the fan located and how hard is it to get to? Why does the fan have 2 fuses for it, one A/C and one heater, b/c i don't need both fuses in to run the fan only 1 or the other. Both of them were blown too.
