Wiring for remote-start/keyless entry.
Wiring for remote-start/keyless entry.
Out of the blue, I picked up a combination remote-start, keyless entry and alarm system for the Maxima.
I'm wondering if anyone has some tips on wiring the alarm to the door locks. The ignition wiring is easy enough to figure out, but I'm getting stuck figuring out where to hook into the locks.
Anyone who can tell me quickly which wires to look for (colors + location would be great) to hook it up would be a great help.
Thanks
Kurt

I'd contact jayrebb if I were you, seems like he recently did one of those. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=200456
Thanks!
I'll get on it.
Fortunately, my car doesn't have any stock security system, so I don't have to worry about that. I'm going out looking for wiring diagrams for the existing power-lock setup tomorrow.
The car does have keyless entry, but it doesn't work, one keypad is permanently out of it and the other has a crucial key that doesn't work. I'm considering looking for handles off a car that doesn't have it and removing the whole stock keyless-entry system, as much as I can anyways (any experiences). It would be redundant anyways with the remote-entry aspects of the alarm.

This is driving me NUTS!
Hmm...

Okay, I'm planning out the alarm install and can't seem to figure this part out. The starter kill relay is easy enough except for the orange wire. It goes down to meet the assembly that is pictured in the red circle. Is this another relay, or another way of hooking it up (as in either starter kill or ignition kill? if I only want the starter kill do I just wire the orange wire to the yellow -500ma wire from the alarm?
Everything else is straightforward but this part has me a bit confused. I do want the ignition kill too though, I find the anti car-jack feature of the alarm neat.
Any help apreciated!

I think it is . The orange wire activates the starter disable relay so the ignition switch doesn't reach the starter to engage it. The relay turns on so the voltage won't engage the starter (like disabling the starting circuit before the circuit has power to go through it.) I believe that both yellow and orange wires go to that pole on the relay.
Contact Craig brace. He has a 3rd gen but hes hella smart with electronics. lookm up on here and send the info to him that you have there. Hell let you know everything, tellm Qijuan sent ya. It may take him a while like couple of days to answer back, he goes to GA TECH. Yeah! Hes good with electronics. He made his own clock and outside temp teller for his car out of some electrical gadget. check out his website too.
