ASCD what is it?

I have a 85 maxima wagon and it has a lil blower motor on the passenger side of the engine bay that looks like it blows air towards the intake man.
I is not turnin on by itself and I know the blower works cause i jumped the leads direct to a 12v sorce and it spins.
so my Q is does ASCD have any thing to do with this system?
If not where else should I look for the problem at?
The car starts hard and misses bad after its warm on a hot day.
Thanks for any help

ASCD stands for Automatic Speed Control Device. This is your cruise control. The fan your talking about is the Injector Blower. What it does is when the engine gets to a certain temperature. When you shut the motor off, this fan runs from 10-20 minutes. It pulls cold air in and blows it accross the injectors to prevent fuel boil off and vapor lock induced by high heat. They are totally seperate from each other. You might want to check the operation of the timer that controls blower. I believe that timer might be under the drivers seat, or drivers side kick panel....but I'm not 100% sure.

Well supposidely, sonystyle found one on an 87. He was really excited to prove the 87's came with them. I swear...that guy sometimes.....he just plain stupid. I know they are an option for sure, but he wants to show he knows something which he really doesn't. :P

Yeah I think they were optional but barely any 87-88 maximas have them. like a very small percentage if that.
