Those are safe enough, as they are using the same wattage as factory stock.

Actually, the HO's will give better lighting, as the SB's are only coated, and therefore, do nothing more than color the light blue. The ones to look for, if on a budget, are the Sylvania Silverstars...heard only good things about them...

If you on a budget, I would go for Sylvania Silverstars. But if you like me and want to get really high quality, high output lights, you will have to shed a little cash and get PIAA's. These are probably the best halogen bulbs you can buy other than going to HID Xenon lights which cost an arm and leg.

I highly doubt you have the original headlight bulb in the car. Most lights last only about 3-5 years. Koito may of been one manufacture that makes cheap headlight bulbs.

Yeah, he probably does have the original headlight bulbs. I still have the original bulbs that came with my car and they're Koito as well (and really dim too). Koito also made the housings for the lights on these cars.

Light bulbs can last an extremely long time. There's a light bulb that's over 100 years old that still works today and it's never turned off, it's at some firehouse, I saw it on some Discovery show or something. The only reason light bulbs burn out is because the manufacturers design them that way so they can sell more light bulbs, otherwise they'd be out of business.

The Silvania Silverstars are $37 at Walmart for both bulbs, that's if you can get them when they're in stock, they're constantly selling out of the 9004 bulbs. I checked two Walmarts and neither one had them. I'll probably replace mine with them too, they are 4000K bulbs and put out a very bright white light, much brighter and a higher temperature than all of the other bulbs besides PIAA's.
