88 max door lock question--please help!

hopefully you guys can shed some light on my situation; I have an 88 max w/ keyless entry. I closed my drivers door one day, and since then It doesn't want to open anymore! I've tried opening from outside and inside, and nothing! When you try pulling up on the lock from inside, it doesnt come up as smooth as all the other doors. What could be the problem? How can i go about fixing it since i cant get the door open? Is this a common problem?

Thank you guys!

Well, to the sound of it, if it isn't opening smoothly, the linkage must of broken off. What you'll need to do is get the door panel off (though the problem is getting the panel off with the door shut which will be a PITA). Once you get if off, you can pull back the plastic watershield and check your linkage. Plus you should able to reach to the door latch and open the door.

OI that would SUCK for some reason the bottom corners tward the front of the car when your sitting in it normally are broken off and it doesent interfear with any thing (on my 87 that is)...if you are good at it you could break your off too and be able to get inside your door a little easier...they might be broken off already

Yeah, you might need to break the plastic retainers to get it off....you might want to buy yourself some of those to replace the broken ones once you fix your door. Let us know how it goes.
