cork in hose?
cork in hose?
ok, lastnight I put a cone style filter on my 87 SE replacing the factory air box....after I did this I have a hose that is not hooked up anywhere. Its the big hose coming off the thing beside the EGR valve. It has a vacume when when car is on, and the car will run with it un hooked....so what I did was plugged it with a cork and it run much smoother. Should I have plugged this? What have you guys done with this hose when you have put a cone filter on your car? Can I just put a breather filter on the end of the fitting? Thanks.

That hose is the AIV hose. It injects air into the exhuast stream. What I did with mine was cut the hose down and added a breather to the end of it. Plugging it won't hurt it, but it may effect your emission a little, though I don't think it's anything major.
