Anyone have an 88 factory service manual that they can look something up for me in? I need to know 3 things.
1 what is the BAULK RING TO GEAR MIN/MAX (wear or wear limit) CLEARANCE on the 5th gear in a 5 speed transmission and
2. Is there suppose to be a circlip on the end of the input shaft right after the 5th syncro and before the rear input bearing that holds the syncronizer in place?
3 What is the wear limit between the two baulk rings on the 5th syncro? (If any)
Thanks

Answers:
1. the wear limit for 3rd - 5th input gears baulk rings
Standard is- 1.0 - 1.35mm or (0.0394- 0.0531 in)
Wear limit is- 0.7 mm ( 0.028in)
2. none that I can see the assembly goes-Coupling sleeve with a "spring" then the 5th synchro hub, then theres the input shaft rear bearing, then the rear bearing adjustment shim
3. It doesnt say. Id say itd be the same as the answer to number 1
