Lookin 4...87/88 Maxima parts

What's up ya'll! Haven't heard from ya for a while.

Right now I'm lookin' for some parts for my 88 Maxima. Most likely the front-end body. Such as the headlights, hood latch, bumper cover, metal body frames where the radiator & lights sit on....

If ya'll know places or have source for used good condition parts holla back at me please. I need to get my ride back in good shape again. It;s lookin all junky!

PEACE

Did you do something to the max or just making more mods? Are you still keeping the Montego Blue color?

+1, I hope you keep that Montego Blue. That's a really nice color for our cars, or a Majestic Blue, which is really really dark, like on the 5th gens.

Yes it does. It has a very very useful database to look up parts.

Thanx 4 the feedback fellaz!
Yeah no doubt....still got that color right now. Needs probably another coat. Because some parts are chipping due to mishaps and scratches from all kinds of conact. But yeah I'm gonna keep that color...MAYBE...because there's other colors I like too. But for now, I'm strong on the color I got now.

The color I got: Light Montego Blue Pearl w/ Metallic
Section that I found it is in Mitzubishi/Dodge.

When the sun hits, its fabulous. The edges shimmers and highlights.

As for mods, things been mild. More repairing though. Been fixing it up mechanically. Cosmetically, I took off some rice sh*t like those stickers on the windows & body, took off that fake antenna, no fog lights, and no colored interrior items. I do need to replace my headlight assemblies as well as replacing my front bumper cover. Plus I think I want to get my chrome thrimming (windows, headlights, grill) painted black.

Hopefully soon I will get some new updated pics when I clean my car, get a film, and scan 'em. The car don't look it's best but its in the process of being repaired. While I'm at it I'll post up some other rides plus bonus pics from Vegas!(I'm there like 4 weekends every year, plus end of this month!)

PEACE

How did you like the KYB's? Was there a noticeable difference? I was looking into them but what I was reading said they were only like 20% better than oem. Where did you pick up the rotors from? I think my driver side caliper is starting to stick a little and I might be upgrading the brakes. Is there anyone here that has upgraded their brake lines? If so where did you get them from?

Thanks Jose

Well Jose Man. I had the rear KYB Gr-2 Struts in last February and recently about 2months ago I finally got in the fronts. I noticed a lot difference due to the fact my stock struts were almost shot. The ride feels more stiff like if a new car from the factory. It is also recommended if you lowered your car. AS for the brake rotors, I did a ton of internet searching. I locked into this Drift Speed company in Cali. Found out they held drilled/slotted Brembos for the front set of our Maximas as well as for some Datsuns and other Nissans. They could also be found on eBay. So they fit supposedly. I did measurements on the stock one and the Brembos. Now I need to install them this week. I still got them old brake lines....stainless steel is a lot better.

Werd, liking the ST's? I like mine, but I'm thinking of putting intrax's on the sake of being lower....but I'm not sure yet. You gotta get a FSTB and RSB. Believe me, they make even more of a difference. It's nice I can slingshot my car around corners and not even break the rear end loose.

Well Sam...ya did a first move and joined this club. Here you would plenty of advice on Maximas from the fellow members. Now what ya need to do is search as much as possible for gear for ya ride. Search stores to magazines to internet. Look for 2nd Generation Maxima, 85-88, 87-88, VG30E engine, maybe other Nissans like 300ZX(same engine), or 3rd Gen Maxima. Or just some universal sH*t.

But as for now, I could give ya details on&on for what I got in my ride. As for the clear signal lenses on the front bumper I got them from the Nissan dealership (only go there if ya need a hard to find parts). The gauges I got from ProCarParts.com but I took 'em off. A lot of the parts I got from auto stores, Internet, and catalogs. Here's a list of some sites that contain our ride:

www.maxima.org (you are here)
www.ProCarParts.com
www.nopionline.com
www.courtesynissan.com
www.PartsAmerica.com
www.ebay.com
www.summitsportcompact.com

plus many many more

Yup. 9004 are the ones. However, I'm going to give 9007 a try myself.
