HELP PLEASE with manual transmission problems :(
Does anyone know IF the source of my problems could be that small metal piece that holds the support shift rod? If its missing and just the support rod is connected to the transmission will it cause my transmission to grind second gear and sometimes 1st? Also can a bad positioned shift rod cause your gear to pop? it sometimes does it. I go into first and it pops into neutral. CAn this be bad syncros? Im really hoping its that metal piece that I dont have there. The haynes manual has it pictured..loks like a small plate with a screw popping out of the base (its where the support rod is supposed to be connected) Sarin has told me its possibly a bad tranny..anyone else got ideas?? anyone alive? Im so stressed here...

Im like...well free is good Oh I found a place that sells remanufactured maxima transmissions for 120 dlls with 6 months warranty. not bad but like i said...free is better than paying.. now what to do with the extra 300 dlls i have :/ lighweight flywheel?
