i'm selling my old '85 max automatic... i used it as a winter beater for a few years to keep my 01 garaged... don't need it any longer.. going to get a third gen to use as a beater... its got 430,000 miles on it, don't know the history prior to my purchasing it at 325,000 miles in 2001. it runs okay, alot of sh-t is busted, radio is inoperative, stains galore, lotsa rust, dents, seats smell like b.o. and cig smoke, etc. its a beater, but it runs. burns and leaks enuff oil that oil changes arent even necessary, just dump a quart in every couple weeks. tranny seems fine though... passed inspections back in september. anyhow, i'll let it go for $1700, i'm in the new hampshire area, though i can deliver it to vermont/massachusettes/maine/new york. pm me if you're interested or have any ?s. i'm not parting it out, so don't ask!!!

what would make you think this is a joke? thats the way the car is man, i didn't beat the sh-t outta of it, i got it that way. might as well let the people know what they're getting into if they decide to buy it. i'm only asking $1700 for it, not like i'm trying to rip anyone off.

ok, I guess it is not a joke. I find it funny that you are trying to sell a $100 car for $1700....I love both of my maximas but they dont have the best resale value in the world. You may have better luck if you try to sell it in a local paper...most people on the org are fairly frugal and are not likley to pay 5 X's a cars value for your maxima. Check out the for sale section....a lot of third gens in much better shape than your 85 dont sell for that much.

$100?!? i can sell it to a salvage yard for more than that. i don't think $1700 is all that much. hell, i paid nearly $30000 for my 01. $1700 is about as much as i pay in three months for my 01 on payments. the 3g i'm getting is $3750.

$100?!? sheesh, a huffy bicycle sells for more money than that.

I really hope you sell your car I just doubt you will sell it here for that price...I checked on Kelly Blue Book and they usually over value cars anyway, but with the mileage and condition they said you are is 'no value'. So I thought maybe they are wrong, so I went to edmunds....I tried entering a search for your car and there was a problem...I got an error message saying that you could not enter more than 400K in the mileage field....so I lowered it to 399K. Then it came back with the grand total of privite party sale on your car of....drum roll......0 bux

Just to give you an idea....I payed $600 for my 87 SE and it is in good condtion, with 200K less miles than you have....I am just trying to help you out, just letting you know, no one on here will buy your car for that price.

and yes.....a huffy bike could possibly be worth more than the car....I paid $79 for a huffy in middle school.....79>0

Ummm... $1700 for the car you just described might be the going
rate where you live, but from my neck of the woods, people would
barely even be interested then for you to tell them you want $1700
for it, they would die laughing!

Around here you'd be lucky to get $400 for it...

You must have a higher used car market where you're from.

yikes... i'm going to look in to donating the car to charity... maybe some dumb poor slob will have a nice easter.... see if i can use it as a tax write off.... though i might not be able to do so if the car is literally worth nil

in that case, i'm going to have some fun with this pos, maybe i'll blow it up or something! if i do that, i'll make sure i record it for all to see. or maybe i'll take it off roading.... or maybe i'll smash it up or something... possibilities are endless....

0 bux, that's awesome, my car is worth less than a toaster!

I dunno man, at least your honest about the car condition, but $1700 is way too optimistic. If you can get a salvage yard to pay more than 100 bucks for it, you may have to go that route. How much did you pay for the car originally? Plus from a New Hampshire area, I wouldn't be surprised if the car has some significant underbody/frame rust because of the weather there. Either way good luck with the sale, but I concur with everyone else, you'll be lucky to even get a few hundred from it.

I got my car for 400 with a non work, ing engine But strong tranny... I got aworking wagon for 700. If the yard is going to pay u more than that..id suggest you do that. I doubt anyone will give u 1700 for it. I can get a 3rd gen or a beat up 4th . gen for that price. WEll i gues it depends where u live. Hey mayve u can find a dumb teen to sell it to :P My car will be worth around 1500 - 1700 after i get the manual tranny replaced (for free) and its a bit modded, clutch, intake body kit. well good luck

I'd also have to agree with everybody. Mine cost me $1600 CAD, with all the service records since new, a new tranny, only three rust spots the size of a dime, and everything works. Pretty close to mint for an 85. But good luck with your sale anyway.

yeah I really wouldn't try to sell it on here, cos whoever buys it's just gonna ask us how to fix everything. maybe the best bet is to part it out. somebody could get good life out of the engine and tranny if they're rebuilt.

BTW, I paid 1900 for my 88 SE two years ago, but the interior was immaculate and there was only one rust spot on it. and then I got ahold of it and.....
