The other night this dude I know was driving a little slow in front of me with a Chevy Beretta GT with a 3.1 in it. We were on a two lane road so as soon as I seen the passing zone I downshifted into 3rd gear and went around him. When I looked in my rearview I saw him getting into it so I just punched it again for about a 1/4 mile and then I slowed down after I hit about 115mph. Then I slowed down to about 75mph. I let him get in front and then I punched it again until I got up to 115mph then I shifted to 4th and I buried the hand at 125mph and then I didn't know how fast I was going and I went right around him like he was sitting still. I have 18 inch wheels on my max so my speedo is off a bit. Do any of you guys know the top speed for our cars?

I think you can get up to 120-125. Not sure how accurate the speedo is above 100mph.
Not that I have gone that fast...
On purpose.

Down hill, windy day,new tires, new exhaust you know how it goes.

Yeah if it's an Auto....SE 5-speeds are capable of 125-130mph. I had mine with the speedo pointing to the bottom of the right trip odometer a few years back before I did any modding. Scared myself because my suspension was all crappy and floating like.

Oh trust me, we can go over 118. :-p I was driving down the I-10 between California and Arizona once, and felt a need for speed; so I punched it, and even though the speedometer stops at 125 I can swear I went ~135. Of course, imagine the gas that must use . LOL

well, this is from the track... I got my speedo needle stuck at the bottom right of the speedo.. the last line on the speedo is 130, and I went past that. how long? about 3 minutes after passing 120....

the RS5F50A got 1 long gearing...with a 3.650 final drive.
the RS5F50V got a slightly more agressive gearing, with a 3.895 final drive, and an LSD to top it off...

When I had Lil Nismo, I always drove to Alabama from Seattle and back. I burried the needle a lot of times. I am positive that it was around 130. She was a 5 speed SE model rolling on 17" and low profile rubbers. If you going to attempt top speed runs ( I don't recommend speeding, unless its neseccary) do a complete tune-up. Screw around and don't do it may cost you your car, maybe your life.

I wished I had Lil Nismo over here to take the autobahn, she'll have to have the low end and top end tweaked for it though, like changing the ecu to a 300 zx non turbo and chnging the throttle body to a 280 zx for more power. Try bring that car of yours like it is and it'll get tossed like salad by an Opel!

I push a 320i now: Lil Nismo threw a timing belt and died at the port , getting ready to be shipped here to Germany.

110 stock, still had a little to give but a corner was comming up....when your bushings are shot you dont dare take any sort of corner over 45mph, its scary as hell
