Shocks n' Struts

alright i know people stick with brands so i have to ask:

since i replaced the nagging CV-boot today i'm going to be replaceing all my shocks and my struts in the next couple of checks and i was thinking of getting a high end Bilstein, its just what i have seen used and what io ahve seen them do in races in person and on the boob-tube they just seem like they'd be kick ***, i find them a good brand especially when i found out my uncle used them in the front of his drag car....that charger would do a wheel stand and come back down on the fronts and there was no bounce the car was amazing enough to see...

any way are there other high end parts i should consider other than Bilstein?

From what I know...I haven't heard of Bilstien actually making struts for our cars. If they do, awesome jump on it....but my bet is they don't. The next best, easily available struts to go with are KYB GR2's. Tokico use to make illumina's for our cars, but I haven't found them since they stop making them....however you can probably get a set of Tokico Blues which should be a decent buy as well.

89 struts will fit....but not pefectly. I know the inserts in the rear maybe a tad short, and the strut to spindle mount on the strut maybe a tad wider. My car is proof of this considering I'm running a majority of 3rd gen suspension parts in my car since I've done the 5 lug conversion.

I wish I could find KYB's locally...the one store that carried them now lists them as unavailable...and a couple of places I've checked on the web list them, but when called, are reported to not have them...

Maybe KYB left us high & dry also...

we may all be forced to do the 5-lug conversion to be able to get decent struts soon...

I got my KYB's for the rear on ebay for $20....and I got the tokicos for $70 for the front....both pairs were brand new. I have never tried to find replacements at local parts stores because I am guessing they will only have the gabrial
