engine bulid sticky isnt working

i've hit a small snag....i need a head gsdket set but unfortuinatly in 1987 there was a bunch of revisions half way though the year and thus causes there to be 2 different sets (one much more than the other)

i got some numbers from the block, the cylinder heads are at the machine shop still

the car was bulit in 1/87

the Fuji Heavy Industries Plaque in the engine compartment says 2960 (edit: thats in CC why the poop didnt i rember that) after the engine number

and theres a number on the eingine it self VG30 818318 A

ANY IDEAS OR CAN SOME ONE TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THE DATE ON THE ENGINE IT SELF (sorry caps but i am not fixing it because i am lazy)

Your right about the different gasket set depending on your build date, big $$$ diff too. Looks like your lucky its the lower priced one.

Post your vin number and I'll see if I can come up with the build date . I have a 87 Nissan Parts catalog that list build dates from the vin #s . The list ends at 8/87.

OK according to the listing, your vin # 329791 fits right in at the build date starting with 327723 1/87 to 335372 2/87. So looks like it fits right in around 1/87. I wouldnt worry too much and go ahead and get the gasket set for pre-4/87 build cars.

The plant it was build at ......OPPAMA.....
