Well Maximas are not any different then any other car. They need gas...87 octane will work just fine...oil, multi viscosity,10w-30 for a car with a few miles althought some like the 5w-30. Air in all four tires and the spare I usually use the compressed type about 32-35 lbs in each. Antifreeze/coolant about 50/50 combination works well in all climates.(not Alaska), use the green kind not the pink. Be sure and put some type of anti-freeze in the windshield washer if you are going into temps below 32 degrees F.
My son-in-law, whose has lived in Florida all his life, came to visit one Christmas here in Ky and after arriving, made the comment that his windshield washer quit working and he could not find out why
When in doubt read the owner's manual, if you can find it.

Good Luck you'll love it

Sometimes I use hydrogen or helium to decrease unsprung weight. One time I filled them up too much and they all ballooned up and the car started floating. That was f-ed up, it was kinda like driving a moon buggy. I have a video of it somewhere, maybe I can find it. My mechanic didn't even have to put it up on a lift to change the oil, he just walked under it. But I'm scared of heights so now I just go with regular unleaded air.

Show me where in the stickies this stuff is.

phateless:
I think the 2nd post does answer this rather generalized question. What do you specifically need to know other than type of gas and oil?

I was Just Kidding

You never let me have any fun!
Your like the forum po-po

Fine ill answer the question. There is a sticker under the hood of the car that tells you what kind of oil to go with (the weight and type). Since your trying to save this car do all the little maintence things like brake pads, and fluid refills just to be sure.

oh man this one got me laughing real hard

a couple summers ago i was taking a welding class (trust me this was the dumbest group kids i've ever seen ) so this one genius used oxy-acetylene gas from one of the tanks we had sitting around to fill up one of his tires...

...good thing he drove a truck and that it was the back tire b/c the thing exploded out on the freeway shortly after he left class. when i say exploded i don't mean the tire blew out or anything like that, i mean it blew half of this dumbass' truck apart. aside from some hearing dammage the guy was alright though you had to see the reaction this got out of the instructor when he was told this story

You said this was a story...I think that's what it is ...a story. Oxygen and acetylene are in separate tanks, the hose fittings are left handed on the Oxygen and the threads are of a different size and type on the acetylene to avoid the accidental mix-up of acetylene and compressed air. One would have to go to lot of trouble to change out all the fittings to accomadate a Schrader valve on a tire. Just as a bit of information and CONTRARY to what you see and hear on TV Oxygen will not burn or explode! What it does is make everything around it MORE combustible. In an oxygen rich atmosphere things that are flammable become more flammable and are very quick to ignite. Sorry...not trying to be a smart eleck ,just trying to set the record straight

I dunno, I think it's funny as hell how the threads get run so far off topic within only a few replies.

i know all about the differences betweem the threads on the accetaline and oxygen tanks and i don't know how he managed to bypass that to fill up his tire, but he did it all the same

this kid is definitely a candidate for the Darwin Awards

another funny story from the same class: this one kid was welding some aluminum diamond plate and got into an argument with some other kid about how hot the stuff was after he was welding it (based on the fact that aluminum 'dissipates' heat much better than steel). so anyhow to prove him wrong the other kid took the chunk of diamond plate and put his tounge right next to the part where it was being welded (it was still quite hot )

I think its 6 1/2 for the fronts. BUt the mounting depth is a problem. Most aftermarket ones will stick out. Mine do. I have JL VR650 I think thats what they're called. Loud clean but the stick out a little.
