aav question

i was wondering should i be able to blow through an air regulator valve if its still good and are there any other ways i can tell its bad once i get it out?

There is a sticky for this particular thing. The AAV is the Air regulator. I placed a link directly to how someone checked to see if his still worked and what he did to rig it to be fixed.

i also noticed in that sticy that it stated no way to tell from physical aspects ,other than taking the thing apart, that it was still good or not, i know the one in my car is shot but there was one in the junkyard that looked to be in better shape but i am not about to take the thing apart there
