should i sell the 2nd gen?

I bought this car for $450 about 2 months ago after i had a "slight" accident with my 4th gen. i've been working a lot since then and now i'm quite close to getting the 4th gen out on the road again. I was planning to keep the 2nd gen around after i fixed up the 4th gen and doing something crazy with it (maybe a VQ30 swap ) but now this guy wants to buy it from me for a whopping $1000. that amount of money would get the 4th gen back out on the road pretty quick and i'd be able to fix all the body dammage too (aside from the suspension and frame work needed to get it drivable again)

what should i do

Well, just look at your situation and choose which is more important. For me its wonderful getting offers for my car as I contintue to drive it. I get compliments all the damn time. I love that! In your case Id say if the 4th gen was your main focus continue on with it and get it back on the road.

Doesn't sound like a bad to me at all. If it would cover some repair costs for the 4G that's cool too. It's better to have one fully working car than two half working cars.

Wow...that's $550 profit. What have you done to the car (as far as fixing stuff, etc). The 2nd gen might be a nice beater car to drive if you want to keep the miles off your 4th gen. But really, it depends....if you have already put money into the car....the profit might not mean anything....especially if you spent more than $550 on the car. Which in that case, just keep the car.

yeah make sure that this guy can actually get the money first. nothing worse than a deal being struck and then you get the call that they dont hae the money or changed their minds...been there done that. I think that if the car is running well, keep it around as a beater and drive the 4th Gen when you want to impress/pick up the ladies...hehehe

yeah ive always got people throwing me offers for my truck...as old and beat as it still looks (but not for too much longer) it sure catches a lot of looks/interest. I had a guy offer me $1200 then I said no so he kept throwing offers before he stopped at $2000!! I know, I know that I should have caved at $2K but it was my first car and its got sentimental value etc etc

Man, that truck reminds me of my dad's old 74 720 pickup, with short bed. Those were good ole reliable trucks!
