cold start/running problems...
I recently bought an '87 max with only 88K miles. For the most part everything looks an operates very well. Recently though I have been having problems with cold starting
(cold meaning engine has completely cooled down, overnight, etc.), its takes a long time cranking and a couple of tries before it starts. Then after about a minute it starts to hesitate and stalls out repeatedly. After the engine fully warms to operating temp though, everything is fine and it runs fine. Anyone have this problem before?

Ihave been experiencing the same problem here and i did a few things which might be of help.Since you already changed the air regulator check your throttle position sensor switch and last but not the least is the cylinder head temperature sensor.I took mine to the dealers and they told me that the cylinder head temperature sensor is corroded and that is my next project for the next sunny weekend.
Check you battery first. Then the starter. Then the EGR valve. If any of these aren't working(or all of them) they can do this to your car. Always start with the cheap easy stuff before you go getting the CHTS replaced. By the way if you have the means to get it done you should probably get a new water pump and timing belt while everything is off. Also when you get a CHTS replace the harness too. Just so you don't have to go back and do it later.
