1st Gen 1/24 or 1/25 Model?

Well, there used to be companies on the internet that would carry old models, still in their boxes, never assembled...
I found them many years ago, when I still drove my '78 Nova, looking for a 1/25 scale model of one...they located a promo model from 1977, for the 77 model Nova...
Beware, though...they can be pricy...many of them are likely to be collectable...so you may have to pay a premium for one...

To the best of my knowledge, the 1st gen Maxima was not sold in Japan, a model kit of it is unlikely. Your best bet (if you are an experienced builder) is probably to find a 910 Bluebird model and stretch the nose about 6 scale inches. The 910 Bluebird is VERY similar to a 1st gen Maxima, and at 1/24 scale maintaining the illusion would be fairly easy.
Cheapest source of new Japanese kits is usually HobbLink Japan (www.hlj.com). For used, ebay is your best bet. Or if you have a good Japanese translater (like Babblefish), you could cruise Yahoo Auctions in Japan looking for one.

FYI, 910 Bluebird pics:

As you can see, it's basically a 4 cylinder version of your car, minus about 6" of fender.
