Headliner/Sunroof Help

I know there was a thread about removing the headliner a little while ago, so sorry for the repeat. If anyone can point me to the link that'd be fine.

Anyway, next week I plan on removing my headliner to get at the sunroof pan and see what's causing my leak. Who ever it was that did it before what did you have to do get it down? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Sorry about the repost.

Sometimes sunroof leaks are caused from the rubber seals drying up. Try getting a silicone spray and coating the seal with it and seeing if that helps. Plus you can get a sorts of weather stripping and replace it.

Well, it's leaking pretty badly. During a hard rain I can accumulate an inch or two of water in passenger side foot wells. It doesn't drip down from the roof itself, so I suspect that either the drains are clogged up and/or the seal that holds the sunroof pan to the roof is leaking. The front drains work fine, but I have no idea how the rears are doing. The only other thing I can think of, is that there's a small piece of rubber trim around the rear edge of the opening on the roof itself. Before I got a leak, that piece came off. If you look at it, it doesn't seem like it does much as it is very thin (kinda like door-edge trim), but maybe I'm wrong.

Any ideas?

You know, the first rain we had after I bought my car, my sunroof leaked too. But I also apparently had it open during the entire time (I hadn't mastered the closing and opening proceedures yet)... so I'm an idiot.

I don't have a m16 noise when closing it...yet. who knows, this car never ceases to amaze me with it's little noises.

A friend of mine had the same issue with her sunroof: it's closed, but leaking. Her "nonattractive" answer was gaffer tape. I hadnt tried this, but she said it worked, just looked weird on the car. I am aiming for along the lines of getting the rubber into better shape myself, as my TRUNK leaks! And for a good long while, was retaining water. Yech.
