Stick shift bushing... R.I.P.
Driving today when I go to second gear and my whole stick assembly falls down and it doesnt go into second. I coasted to the gas station and pulled the boot off. My linkage/shifter was ontop of the cat... the bushing... gone. Im still driving but i have to pull it up and then shift. A man at NAPA told me he had the same problem with his 88 300z. The only places I can find this part is the dealership $45.. and junkyard $10. I'm planing on going to the junk yard but im worried because you have to remove the cat to remove the assembly. I don't want to break any bolts which is extremly possible. Why oh why didnt they make a heat sheild to protect that bushing from the cat...
