Locked keys in my car.......please help me.

Yes, the unthinkable has occured to my 1987 Nissian Maxima that I made a large post in regards to. I was coming back from driving around the block to get the seafoam out of my system. I parked, opened my driver door and locked it with the key in the igination and the car on.....and I closed the door to go look at my tail pipe and got sidetracked and forgot that I locked the door! I can't call a lock smith because I don't have the funds for it, I just spent all I've got to get it inspected and have the title transferred to me and registered in my name.

I have to do something, I'm going to try and geta putty knife and ajar the window, if I have to damage something on my back windows then so be it, the car is still running! However, the car has these buttons on the where the door handles are, if someone could look through their owners manual on how to reset, that would help!

I don't have the owner's manual yet so I can't do that, but please someone look at their owners manual please and tell me how to reset it, or if there is some sort of emgereny code I can input let me know!

Please hurry my car is on wasting gas which is not in abundence right now.....

Thank you!

If it happens again you can always call the police, they have slim jims and it wont cost you a dime.

hey maybee you should set your keyless entry system, in the trunk there is a box that says "cont assy keyless" or sometin like that and there are 3 sets of numbers its the one that has the F# next to it push the clear button on the door key pad then enter the numbers......youll hear a few beeps then you have a coupple of seconds to enter a 7 digit password then youll hear sommore beeps then your set, open the door close it lock it and enter the password starting with the red "c" button. good luck!

Not all Maxi's had this feature. It was never issue with me, cuz even when the driver door was "locked", it always still could be openned. Never a problem though, the 18 year old car is the perfect theft deterrent.
