2500rpm sputter

2500rpm sputter

I got my 87 running and now when i hit around 2500 rpm it sputters till about 3500 then it good ... any ideas why?

I'd also pull ECU codes, as well as check the EGR valve.

ok thanks i'll look into those ... because now its like when i let off the gas or come to a stop, and then hit the gas again it sputters bad

I had somewhat of a similar problem on my new 3rd gen except it didnt get past 2000 RPMs and would feel rough if you hold it at 2000rpms but it turned out to be the timing belt. Good luck with yours, I also thinking it might be the MAP or injectors maybe?

Heh mine won't stay running unless i hold the gas when it is cold. Even when it is warmed up it tends to die at stop lights when i hit the gas.
