Gauging Interest: KALSC Turbo kit
As you all know my car has been sitting for quite sometime now. I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it to keep doing things to it since I'm starting to run into nothing but trouble with it. I'm not entirely sure if I will do this, but I want to see how many people are really interested.
KALSC Turbo kit:
300zx Engloid style IM with 60mm intake port.
T3 turbo .63 ar
Z31 Turbo MAF
Various oil/coolant lines
Z31 charge and non-charge piping
Turbo Front Exhaust Manifold
added to the kit:
Z31 Turbo Injectors
240SX TB
I'm asking for $575 plus shipping.
I also have the following:
Turbo Front Exhaust Manifold
T3 Turbo .63 AF
I'm asking for $200 plus shipping.

Do you think it could be from you not driving it as much anymore? I remember when I got back from a full week without driving my car it started up not so good at first but after that it was fine.

There were questions regarding this kit on the 3rd gen forums and it was closed.
If this seems steep, I'm apologize. However I'm trying to recoup money I have invested to do this project in the first place. I think you would agree that if you were in my position, you'd probably try to do the same thing.
Sorry, I was gauging interest. I will next time put it in the F/S forum. Again, I apologize.
Yes the parts are used parts. They came off a Z31. The parts are proven to work as this has already been done on a 2nd gen and I can get pictures if you like. Yes there is modification, there is plumbing need for the exhaust, and this by any means is not a simple bolt on project that you might be offering. KALSC would definately be a source as he has used these particular parts on his 2nd gen. I offer this to 3rd gen VG owners because you guys got a little more space to work with, and there should be no reason why this couldn't work. I figure it'd be a nice little project for someone to take on if they want to. I don't mass produce this kit, nor am I in the business of selling turbo kits.

Also, how much of the kit is used, what did the turbo come off of, and is the setup proven to work (i.e. do you have pictures), or does it need a significant amount of modification. I can sell the whole setup off of a z31 t as well, but will it work well with our cars? I think that it will require too much fabbing. Show me the kit on a 89+vg30e.

Well, I trying to get find interest. So far it doesn't appear that way, so maybe I'll still turbo. I don't know. It just I don't have the extra time or money to make it happen right now. And just the fact that everytime I get my car going again, something else goes wrong with it.

True that. Funny thing is the motor runs alright though I have the wierd oil pressure problem, and now smoke coming from somewhere (think it's the power steering or the flex section leaking).

Could be oil from the Oil filter if it wasnt on tight enough. I had that problem and couldnt figure out what it was. Happened for sometime even after I replaced an oil filter. Then the next oil change I did I tightened it abit tighter and things were fine again. Weird.

well fix the motor mount/crossmember and then go for a drive...i started taking a long way to work thats faster and has less stops and its helped my car.
i was reading some place that said VG motors are made for long distance travling with mantaining its power, not really suited for stop and go all the time

Well, when I do fix it, I anticipate driving the car more. But the maxima is more of a leisure car. I have a regular daily driver so I don't have to drive the maxima as much.
