Bad News!!!!

In Lovin memory of 1LXC672

R.I.P. Lil buddy ill se ya at the yard sometime..

Well i was on my way to do the CAP (its a program to fix the max to state smog regulations, so im on the freeway doing 110 on I-805 north passing up various tuned hondas, and eclipses and as i finished the hill the clocling noises came back clicking in sync with RPM's i slowed down then i had to push it a lil to get up the hill before Balboa ave. and all i heard was Boom,ERrrrrrr, CLICK CLICK, SHING CHING, WURRRRRR, so as i told my self AWWWWH $HIT shifted to neutral and pulled over to the side of the road, got out, lifted the hood, and saw smoke coming out of the air filter and saw smoke in the clear hoses(looks like they were good for sometin) opened the oil cap-smoke, tried to pull out the dip stick-nope, pulled harder-lil bit, pulled even more-there it goes, waited for the tow truck to take it to the shop-the shop guy told me that the timing belt snapped and the ol max threw a rod so i had to let her go........i also thought to my self... a great time to do the turbo setup but then i said to my self naaaaaah. he told me that it was worth more than the car to get it fixed and he said the tranny was questionable so after charging me 75 dollars to tell me that i stripped that **** down tool all that i could, carbon fiber gas door, cluster, stereo, shift ****, shift boot everything that i customized threw i tin the bmw and dipped, so now im max less, oh bu *** aint over im gonna get a noder one and clone that ****. so with that mark my words, ILL BE BACK!!!

Sorry to hear about the car man. Doing 110mph definately didn't help the situation for sure. Either way it's time for a 4th gen.

Hey man,

were you going to downtown san diego, or headed to I-5, to head to a place

that will get to past the smoke test.

actually all models of the 3rd gen is about the same in price,

unless you find a low mileage 3rd gen

and the later model of the 4gen

are: 98,99

i wish you the best,

Wow that sucks. I thought I feel bad since mine is in the shop for weeks upon weeks when I am working on it. I guess its better to get it fix than have it explode or a wheel fall off. Hope you get another one they are the best cars around.

Not to burst bubbles....but flying by traffic at 110mph that happens to have honda's don't count as smoking. Especially when you pull over with no engine power, and your engine is the one that is doing the smoking.

It's like me smoking a semi-truck on the freeway....er wait....I think I have a picture of that....

Welcome to the joys of really old car ownership. Fun, ain't it? You know you've gone over the high side when you start screaming at the car as if it will understand you and answer...

hm i test drove a 3rd gen with 180k, then test drove my 2nd gen with 140k, and ended up buying the 2nd gen based on the fact that it was more fun to drive. the g3 had all kinds of noises, etc...
