DJs 1987 Max of Traffik Blockin' NYC Crew

I think this man should get recognition for this thing already. It has Show and Go, and his system is crazy also. If my memory serves me correctly it has a Turbocharged 300zx Motor in it.

More info about his crew on:

nice looking max. Interesting place to put the turbo. If I were to do that though, I would rather keep it at more of a sleeper look.

I remember seeing pic of that car from the NJ meet, it's probably the cleanest second gen I have seen. Does anyone know the power numbers on the car or any track times?

Hmmm, he beats the shyt out of turbo 4th gens on the hwy, i'll tell you that much, lol. He went to the track and ran a ****ty time because they screwed him over at the track. The guy telling him to move up to the starting line kept making sure he was close enough, by the time he looked up, the light was already green. That wasn't fair at all. I'd say its a 12 second car. His trap time was like 120+, 130+? Starchild has to come in here. He ran him on the track.

what are you calling a $hitty time? None of what you mentioned about him looking up and seeing the light being green would affect his time. What fouth gens has he beat? A lot of what you are saying does not add up, if he is trapping that high then he has the fastest maxima on this board. Mardigras traps under 125 and he has run an 11.4. If you could get him or Starchild to come in here. Your numbers and logic are not adding up.

Yeah a 120 or 130 trap speed is very low 11s if not 10s, so something isn't right.

I posted no numbers. *** are you talking about? These were 120+130+ with a big fat question mark is a full proof figure to you? Relax. He trapped high though.

all I am saying is you are being vague. The difference between 120 and 130 is a lot of power. I never said you posted numbers. You made a vague statement again saying "he trapped high". I am just curious as to what the car can do...thats all.

Yeah I couldn't remember what he trapped at, I just threw figures out there. By the way, he lost to starchild in the 1/4 mile and trapped much higher. So i'm not sure how that all works out.

Because I don't remember what he trapped at AT ALL. I do remember me saying, how did he trap that high? to myself, thats it.

I'm not sure, but that turbo is definately huge. But there is plenty of room left there. Wonder if I should fit the 2 T3's I have in.

does this include s/c 4th gens . wow 120-130 , do you know what kind of 1/4 mile times this would be? he could launch wrong miss the green and all and still finish 11 seconds lol, maybe 115 would sound reasonable.

It probably was lower. And yes Cmax, I was running at 9psi/10psi. He pushed me out the way and flew by me. Yet I was hanging side by side a few nights later with the 13.8 second Starchild in his all motor 3.5L. So the car moves. He made me think mine was dead. LOL

Very embarassing because I called his car a box all the time. He kinda shut me up. I floored it and he was still there, then passed me. "TJ, I have some of your paint on my bumper from when I pushed your *** out the way". Not literally, but close.

Because it is a 300zx motor. 300zx is rear wheel drive, his max is front wheel drive. They had to turn the engine around to get it to work with his drivetrain? Did I say that right? LOL.

no wait, i know now...the 300Z throttle body is on the oppisite side of the transmission in a 300Z, i woulda thought it had been turned arround being from a 300Z or not for easy access...the oil filler is on the other valve cover i am assuming which would swap sides easy aswell but not my car, thing i would do are not things other people would i know that.

as far as I know, the 300Z intake it facing forward on the z(whether it has turbo or not), with the transmission going to the back. When you turn it 90 degrees clockwise (which is what I think they did) the intake would be on the left, with the letters saying TURBO 3000 being right side up if you are looking at the front of the car. It seems that this is the only way the engine will work on out car, even in USDM motors(looked in the junkyard).
