Egr Stem Broke

my egr stem broke because of the engine and the strutt bar mashing against eagh other so i went to the yard and purchased a nother egr module with the stem sticking out on the side, by the way how in the he!! do you take that damn bolt off without breakin sometin it is tight as ****.

oh and a reccomendation if you have a max with a strut bar make shure that you get the egr with the tube facing toward the fender not the firewall!!

I used a pipe wrench for that the nut on the egr valve. The recommendation is using the SOHC 3rd gen FSTB and modify the brackets to fit. Be sure it's the bar that angles up a little to give you a little more clearance. Other recomendation is to check your engine mount and poly fill if needed. If you engine crawls too much, there is nothing you can do about the egr valve hitting the bar...so you gotta fix that. SE 5-speed mount ftw.

Anything that is old or rusty gets PB blaster. Best stuff to break nuts/bolts loose Ive found.

Get some penetrating oil, a crescent wrench (or the right size box wrench) and a pipe that fits around it... I usually go with a 4 to 5 foot long 1.5" galvenized steel pipe. That pipe comes in handy for so many different things, the redneck breaker-bar.

You can always eliminate that EGR. I've seen it done on many VG's. Im thinking about doing it to mine.
