Doing 5 speed swap

Doing 5 speed swap

In a few days , Auto trannys going up , And its still under its 30 day Garentee , What do i need if i go pick up a 5 speed , to do the swap??

I looked in one of the stickys , I dont know if thats all i need or what?

Seriously, it would probably be much cheaper for you to just buy a 5 speed second gen, and just sell yours. I don't see how it would be worth all the time and aggravation. If you do this you could have a five speed, with no extra cost or work to you (assuming you sell your car and buy one for the same price). Just something to think about. I doubt I would try this on a car that can be bought for under a grand.

Not really , Because the auto tranny i bought for this one , Is going out already and it has a 101 day warrnty , It was 400 dollars , Im going to exchange the auto tranny for a 5 speed , And then buy what ever else i need.

Carson is absolutely right here. Unless you've already invested a ton of time/ money into your car why wouldn't you just start over with a 5 speed?

I understand what you are saying, and I know it would suck to have to do that after you just sunk a bunch of money in the car. IMO you would still come out cheaper and less frustrated if you just bought a 5 speed.

Would you be paying some one to do the five speed swap? Or are you doing it yourself?

ive got a friend with a 5 spd parts car but the tranny is bad. everything else that has to do with the swap is still good. ill talk to him see what he wants to do with it
