I have two questions... I have a 1987 Maxima, I would like to upgrade the suspension... Lower the car some, better handling, etc. Any suggestions? Does anyone know of any good "kits" for this car, that include tunes parts? (Springs, bars, etc.).

Number two... Is anyone aware of any companies that do perf., rebuilds for the auto transmission? Again, street perf. rebuild, for better performance and durability in hard driving and HEAT. Any ideas about cost??

Thanks for the help...

I got suspension techniques for my 88 max. They are the same for yours too. YOu can get them online for about $160. Addco makes a rear sway bar for it and you can buy polyurethane bushings for the front sway bar for about $15. I put a transgo shift kit in my auto max. It makes it shift a lot harder And you can go a little faster. Torque converter will also make car go faster. Protorque makes one but they are pretty expensive. You might be able to get a local transmission shop to have one custom built for you. This might be about $100 cheaper.

Visit www.levelten.com They rebuild automatic transmissions and make them into high performance ones.

Thanks for the input guys...

Maxim561,

Your bio on your Maxima says, you have a custom exhaust... know of any companies that make "bolt on" perf. exhaust systems? I would like to make some mods, basically like your setup. Suspension, exhaust, intake, the usual suspects... What about fairly simple\straight forward enging perf. mods? Are there any cold air intakes for these cars? They dont seem to be very well represented in the aftermarket. Thanks again...

Thanks,
Sonnyred

Monza makes a cat back system for our cars. You can get it online from the jcwhitney website. No intake systems are made for our cars but you can buy a k & n filter and make your own stuff fairly easy. I just got a bigger throttle body the other day but i havent installed it yet. I also got an underdrive pulley but that is not installed yet either.
