Plusing while Driving Revisited
ok some time ago while i was on my vacation some one sent me a message about the pulsing on my car some time ago wondering if i fixed it or not.
i'm not trying to be a **** i wasnt ignoring you i have just been super busy working to pay off my trip to japan.
heres what i have found out, after you put a new fuel filter in and made sure your pump is ok you'll have to adjust the FICD (the funky thing on the back left of the intake) this was on a 300z if i rember correctly so i dont know where its at on that and you'll just have to adjust both the idle speed and the one next to the idle speed.
i couldnt tell you how to adjust it because after 20 years these cars arent like one another any more a fresh rebulit engine is going to be different than one with 188,000 miles on it well taken care off, and a trashed one is going to be differen than that.
i think my idle screw is almost all the way in and the one next to it (the accual FICD screw) it backed out to almost where the threads are showing.
its helped it but its not completely gone but its mucht better than it was.
if the guy isnt here any more then dont worry about it.

I wasn't the OP, but ran into the same problem.
88 with 66k.
Changed wires, plugs, cap, rotor and fuel filter. Was still doing it. Fuel pump fine, everything tight and in order.
I'm going to try that when I get this put back together. tonight hopefully.

What kind of plusing are you talking about? My 85 gets kinda surgy when driving at a constent speed (going down the road holding a constent speed with and with out the cruse set) but if i step on the gas or let off it goes away i'm not really sure what it is, but when i changed my rotor and cap i noticed that the rotor has some play in it. Could it be the gear has worn and the spark timing is bouncing back and forth?

My pulsating was while accelerating up to 3k rpm in 3rd (Automatic). It would go away after 3k.
Not doing it since I changed the timing belt. I'm having a feeling that my timing my have jumped a tooth when the old stretched belt was on there, but I really have no way of knowing that for sure.
