your car was louder than mine. Just the the midpipe on mine it sounded that nice though. And the throttle response after doing that...man I loved it! I even got a better highway passing acceleration with the 2k2 Muffler and custom rear piping. Man, I miss my car. Noone expected these cars to run how they did. It was sweet. And honestly I was actually happier with my 88 than with this one.

That sounds so sweet, it reminds me of my old 87SE. I too miss that car a lot. I'd trade my se-r for a 87-88SE auto or 5spd in good condition if I could find one.

I really want one again too, but I want to put a different engine in it. I know so much about the vq30 I am thinking I could probably make one of those work, but it would be a lot of wiring and some fab. I really would love to pick up a wagon, but any second gen in good shape would do. I love the look of the old SE's with the front and rear spoilers. I still have the five spoke 17's that I used to run on my 2nd gen. All I would really need to pick up are some lowering springs and possibly some struts.

Yeah, even my son was mad that I sold my 88 maxima. For awhile he actually hated everything about the 4th gen. I dont see them as often as I use to especially in the condition mine was in. I dont think I will ever find another that clean in and out.

E, what is up with your hood sticking up at the back anyway? I've been noticing that.

cooling method since my fans are on 75 percent of the time the air passes through the fans up and out the top of the rear of the hood, i think it has a effect because i never go past half of the cooling line, and i just put in a new rad.

Well I dunno if it's neccessary. When the car is moving, the heat in the engine bay is drawn out the bottom of the car anyway.

Is that sucking the front end down at all, and helping with handling?

Its an old cooling trick. Put some washers I believe under the hood mounts raises the angle in the back so it will still close but gives more ways for the air to pass through.

I will be there one day Sarin. I will also have teh SC. I want the DE-K swap and an SC in the 4th gen. Itll happen. I made a goal to have the DE-K by the end of last year but a lot of crap happened so that was a no go. And once I get my fiance a 4th gen hopefully this year, then I can start the plans of my 5 speed swap. She likes mine so much I think Im going to get her a 96 GLE.

Q, I think you can get there...it takes time and patience....I found that out trying to by the Maxima. At somepoint, if the motor goes, I think I might go VQ35 with VQ30 timing cover and the supercharger.

Well there are many VQ35 swaps. I believe someone has done the S/C setup too. I think the key is to watch out for earlier VQ35DE's and go with much later models because the rods may not be up to the task, even for supercharging.
