Don't see a manual tranny Max very often.

lol i think the owner actually posted once here a few months ago to say its for sale, pretty sure its the same car

all i'm gonna say is if were to have that thing, it would be slammed with a clean body kit so its 3" from the ground, straightpipe exhaust, mad offset rims, RB26DETT swap. ultramuthafuking drift machine

still amazed it has the voice reminders in it, that bish was ahead of its time

actually 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gens were all ahead of their time, but when the 4th gens and rest came about, things slowed down

No Sunroof?

Stop teasing us! Maximas came standard with sunroofs, even at thier Fall 1980 introduction.

I had asked this question before, but no one knew the answer. For 1981, there were two models released. The '81 810 Maxima, and the '81 810 Deluxe. For 1982, the 810 designation went away and they were all called "Maxima".

The 810 Maxima came standard with EVERYTHING. There were no factory options (though the Datsun dealer had things they would love to add for you). One of those "standard" items on the Maxima was the sunroof. If you wanted a slightly less equiped 810, you bought the 810 Deluxe. The sunroof was not offered on the Deluxe.

I have been looking for a '81 810 Deluxe for a long time. Seems they were very rare. So rare.... I was doubting that any were actually built.

Are you telling us you have an 810 Deluxe and not an 810 Maxima?
Tell us more about your car! Photos are in order!!! What is the VIN?

EDIT: Maybe the sunroof became an option in '82-84? I based my comments above on what I know from research on the '81 model. LeX-What year is your car?

My 84 sedan (parts car) doesn't have a sun roof. It has the overhead map
light inside. And if I'm not mistaken, Gray has an operational 84 without
a sun roof.

Must have been an option.

I have come to the conclusion that:
1981: The sunroof was standard equip on the Maxima, but not available on the 810 Deluxe (if they really made an 810 Deluxe)
1982-1984: Sunroof was an option.

this is the conclusion that I came up with now too lol. I just didn't post it. mine even came with the allen head wrench to manually open and close it through the little side thing next the sunroof itself. my owners manual goes into GREAT DETAIL of how to manually open and close both automatically and manually lol, it has a WHOLE PAGE for just this.
