Driver Shoulder Harness Wont' Go Backward

1991 Se, just bought it from a friend. The shoulder harness worked fine up until yesterday, and now it just stays in the forward position (to the front of the car).

Can I fix this?

is it a US car or no? if its a US car with automatic seatbelts i have no idea, if its got regular seatbelts its probably the retractor is broken or stuck.

since youre in the US, the seatbelts should be lifetime warranty. another guy on here with a 3rd gen from the US had his seatbelt wear out, and i think the owners manual says somewhere that the seatbelts are lifetime warranty. dealership ended up replacing his seatbelt for free

i dont know if the warranty is just for the actual belt material, or retractor assembly etc as well, but it wouldnt hurt to ask. i cant see why a retracting issue wouldnt count because its a safety issue

Thanks Chrome 91

Again, thanks for your help.

Yesterday, at the Burger King window, the shoulder harness retracted on its own. I was so glad.

Next month, going to tackle the stereo system.
