My Maxima

Well I've had the car for a little over a year and it still needs alot more love but for a first car i think i did just fine. It has 160,000 miles on it and i really love the thing. It has a new stereo in it I painted it cheap. :P It has some rust problems but its past the point of help lol.

I'll post pics if asked but they're too high of quality for an attachment and i don't have them posted elsewhere on the web.

ive bumped into a problem with the maxima. There is this thing where when you run the a/c and turn the fan on 3 and up it makes the fans mounted to the intercooler shake violently and made alot of noise. i was driving today and this happened while neither the heat or the a/c on. i think maybe the shroud is loose and when the motor got hot it kicked the fans in overdrive. Has anyone had the same problem. I also have a peculiar squealing noise that sounded like serpentine belt whine. The rpms dont matter though it depends on speed and it starts at right around 65. Any help would be appreciated

Beautiful man. I know when my car gets past a certain temp it kicks that fan on and shakes the car. If you need any parts let me know

Thanks Torp lol I thought the thread was dead already. It's been raining a lot lately so I haven't been able to crawl under there and look at it. I was just curious if anyone had the same problems if I fix the fan ill be sure to let you know. I'm curious about the squeal though it sounds metallic and it's dependent on road speed not engine speed so I'm guessing its something in the drivetrain. Any ideas?

Another thing that's been bothering me (I ask for a lot of help I know) the transmission won't shift into 3rd or fourth gear until the car is warmed up. It shifts into 3rd at 44mph and 4th and 46mph (not a typo). Once I hit 3rd gear it'll stay in if I slow down till about 35mph then it'll go into second? Is there a way to adjust when it goes into gear? Is this a premonition of something going bad?

I figured out why the fan was shaking so bad. There was a chunk taken out of the fan.
