Thanks man, I can't really see much of the floor mats in the pic but I was able to find a set of used reproduction mats being sold on ebay

I was more curious to see the "MAXIMA" logo stitching on a set of actual OEM mats. Just shocked none of these guys here have a pic, I see how they roll.

Cruddy pic of brochure doesn't show it too well but it appears to be pretty close to the font used on the rear quarter windows.

Awesome, thanks for this pic!! Those look like early 2nd gen floor mats, I was particularly looking for 87-88 OEM floor mats because the logo lettering in late model 87-88 2nd gens is the same as the 3rd and 4th gen's. What year brochure is that pic out of? Either way, thanks again for the pic.

yea it's the same font as the windows the stitching has a black thread in the gap, if you would like I have a vectorized file of the logo that I made stickers with, the floor mats don't have the lines under the letters but other then that it's the same.... I skipped putting the pictures up due to the one thats up is better then what I can get at the moment due to wear on my mats the only way I could get a better one is when I wash them at the car wash when they are wet and I can get the logo to stand out more....

Pic was from an '87 brochure...double DIN stereo was in the dash pics. The pic above the mats...with the rear bumper that extends to edge of the wheel well should have told you it was '87+. But I know the Maxi was offered with a tan interior in '85-'86 while the '87-'88s had the dark brown/taupe-ish brown...and it looks a bit like it could be a "re-touched" early 2nd gen pic as you noted. I have a good sized file of 2nd gen pics I've saved over the years (cuz hey, it's the one I always wanted but never got until last year) and none of them showed the embroidered part of the mat, if they had a mat at all...hence the brochure pic.

I was under the impression that the later 2nd gen model logo lettering was the same as the 3rd gen which is why I thought the lettering on the floor mats would be the same.

Whoa...never actually noticed the difference but that appears to be another difference between GXE and SE models. Every GXE I've seen has had the two separate badges...never really noted the SE. The '87 brochure shows the SE with the painted badge...like the black SEs you linked to. That yard-art wagon is for sure an '87...I remember seeing the for sale ad for that last year. Asking if an SE and GXE have different floor mats...that's a toughy.

'86 GXE:

'87 GXE:

'87 or '88 SE:

My '87 SE I bought new in '87 had the same mats as the ones shown in the brochure pic. I had the gray checked cloth interior, the mats were about a charcoal gray. In fact, that '87 with the Jersey plates looks identical to mine...

Awesome, thanks for clarifying and putting an end to a question that's been racking my brain for 2 weeks already.

Just for info. Bought my '87 from Action Nissan in Kissimmee FL, Nov., '87. Demo, FULLY loaded with an auto, delete option on the female voice chit, had 3200 on the clock. Paid right at $22.5K...

Sold it in '90 for $13K, 62K on the clock. The ex-wife LOVED to spend money, drove us into bkrpty...: mad:

Loved that car!!
