1987 Maxima wiring

I got this car third hand and the wiring was already a bit "odd" but now that we've replaced engine the heads and put things back , the car won't fire. We've got spark, fuel at the rail, but it won't turn over. At this point we suspect writing since everything else has checked out. The schematics in the repair manuals aren't showing colors so tracing things out is quite difficult.

Does anyone have a complete wiring schematic that has colors?

The schematics don't show wire colors. Schematics are layouts of a circuit. You best check the wiring diagrams, and yes they do show the colors.

I doubt it's the wiring though. You should check for codes before spending any time on random hunches. Also "turn over" means you have rotation, doesn't mean it has to start.

The way I figure is that if you simply had to unplug harnessing then plug back in once the new motor was in, then you don't have a wiring issue...unless the new motor's electrics are not compatable with the old car.

If some sensor or whatever was bypassed to allow the old motor to run, then the new motor may not like that...

Updated Info

The engine top end was rebuilt. Wiring harness in the engine compartment was reinstalled. The engine does crank over. We do have spark to the plugs. But the injectors are not firing. The injectors have 2 wires each, one is power to the injector solenoid and the other is the trigger from the computer. Both wires are on all 6 injectors are hot all the time. What could be causing these to stay hot? Also, where can we find a wiring diagram that shows the colors of the wires?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The injectors are tied to the +12 volt rail through one lead. The opposite lead, from the computer applies a ground signal to fire the injectors.

Use a noid light to verify that you are in fact getting a ground signal from the computer.
