Where is the Voltage Regulator on an 88?
Can someone tell me if the voltage regulator is built into the alternator on an '88? A friend of mine had to jump his '88 at night
without good lighting and connected the cable wrong. Now the car will not do anything. Can it be the voltage regulator??
Thanks for any and all help

Check your fuses and fusible links, may have blown/burned a few. Hope the fuse for the computer is good. If the computer circuit is blowing the fuse, you maybe able to check for a short in the protection diode. (If Nissan puts them in their computers)
A neighbor of my put a new battery in backwards (someone stole the old one) and tried to start his 86 Toyota Camry. The computer's fuse and a fusible link was blown. I opened the computer and found a diode that was causing the fuse to blow. Good design Toyota, that's what the diode was there for, to protect the computer. Saved my neighbor $300+, all I got for my three hours work was two greases hands, ha.
Good Luck , Al
